Reasons for VO change

Hi everyone,

I submitted my CEC application in June 2023. Initially, the PVO was Sydney and the SVO was Ottawa even after UCI linkage. But it recently changed to PVO Kitchener and SVO Vancouver. My eligibility has not started yet and the agent on the phone mentioned that there are no reasons mentioned on the file for VO change.

Can anyone tell me the reasons why visa offices change and if this is something to be worried about? Additionally, does anyone have any info on the Kitchener and Vancouver offices and what their timeline looks like?

Thanks in advance

My PVO is Kitchener and SVO Vancouver. Reading about all the other applicants in the same boat, it seems like Kitchener is an extremely slow office. many applicants in this office are seeing processing times upwards of 6 months.

your AOR is 10 Nov 2022 - did you get GCMS notes to see if you're under comprehensive review? or contact your MP to see if they could get to know the reason for the delay?

According to my GCMS notes, my Eligibility is Review Required because my work experience in Quebec was not counted as Canadian work experience and thus, I did not meet the minimum eligibility requirements for CEC. I submitted a webform last week explaining with references to immigration act that clearly state that any work experience (within the proper NOC codes) acquired in Canada counts as Canadian work experience for CRS points and CEC eligibility. There hasn't been any update yet on my application. If I don't get an update in 2 months, I will reach out to an MP.

Based on the search results, there could be several reasons why the visa office (VO) changed for the CEC application. Here are some possible reasons:

1. Processing times: Visa offices face different challenges operating in different countries and regions, and even in different offices within the same region. Applications may be moved between offices to make sure they are processed as efficiently as possible. Processing times may vary based on the type of application submitted, if the application is complete, how quickly applications have already been processed, how easily information can be verified, how long it takes to respond to any request or concerns, and other factors[2].

2. Backlogs: There may be backlogs in certain visa offices that cause applications to be moved to other offices for processing. This could be due to a variety of factors, such as increased demand for immigration, staffing shortages, or other issues[5].

3. Administrative reasons: There may be administrative reasons for the VO change that are not related to the application itself. For example, the VO may have changed due to a restructuring of the immigration system or changes in staffing[1].

It is recommended to contact the visa office directly to inquire about the reasons for the VO change and to obtain information on the processing times for the new VO. The search results do not provide specific information on the Kitchener and Vancouver offices or their timelines.
