Any one has experience with Dialysis patients? The applicant requires Dialysis and I am wondering if CIC would deem it is a burden on Social services.

Thanks

Generally, dialysis patients would be medically inadmissible (excessive demand) as it is an expensive procedure. According to http://www.kidney.ca/document.doc?id=1376 the cost of the most common type of dialysis is $60k per year. Thus, this would fail to meet the $6285 per year threshold for excessive demand.

So the issue is one of specific costs. You'd need to determine what the cost in Canada would be for the applicant. If it exceeds the threshold, it is likely they will be inadmissible.

Today I've got a fairness letter. I sponsored my parents to come to Canada, and my father has some medical conditions, which they say it would impose a lot of expenses to the health and social services in Canada. I disagree, they quoted his medicine at a really high price, in my home country we can get that medicine at a fraction of that price, or even buy it online from India. They also say that he will require an attendant care (which he has never had, because my mother is always with him, and he is independent to do his own things) This message goes to computergeek, I've seen in a previous post that you have some suggestions about a lawyer to help me with my response plan. If you could pass me that info that would be great. Anyone has experience dealing with one would also appreciate some recommendations. Thank you

Hi,

I've applied for PR under CEC and i'm expecting a medical examination request in the next few weeks. I'm 27 right now, but i underwent an open heart surgery when i was just 1 year old. It was a total repair and I've never experienced any major issues nor have i had to take any medication relating to my heart surgery.

Naturally though, I'm still nervous about the medical examination part of this process and what the immigration office will ultimately decide.

Any thoughts?

It doesn't sound like an issue unless CIC thinks you are more likely than not to require public funded health and/or social service costs of $6285/yr in the next 5-10 years as a result of it. Pediatric cardiac surgery that does not require further treatment does not seem likely to fall into that category.

Anyone who have applied via Islamabad (Pakistan), I've read in this forum that one Quebec Investor got PPR after 5 months of giving medicals. So, keep your mindset positive and don't worry about medicals that much.

Does anyone know what Re-furtherance Medical Exam is?

I gave further medical exam in June 2014. In July 2014, CIC emailed me about Re-furtherance Medical Exam, but sent the following form in attachment.

Does it mean my Panel Physician didn't upload my results of Further Medical Exam to e-Medical system?

As per Canada Health Panel HandBook
Furtherance Process
RMOs may require additional information to complete the medical assessment. This additional information is obtained through the furtherance process.

I've already given my Furtherance medical exam in June 2014 (Request came on April 2014 with 90 days deadline). Results and X-rays were given to Panel Physician (RMO) at IOM Lahore. They told me that I don't have to do anything. They will write a report and upload it in e-Medical system.

Now, I'm being issued REFURTHERANCE MEDICAL EXAM & asked by CIC to take this REASSESSMENT FORM to them (this time, deadline is of 30 days). This request came in July 2014, but I received their email late. So, they have extended the deadline from September 2014 onwards.

Good morning to everyone,

I have a 6 years old son who has ADD (Attention deficit disorder) and ODD (Oppositional Defiant disorder). More than medication he doesn't need social services and is doing fine in school. Do you think this can be an issue? I am in the lasts stages of CEC application and received MR last week.

Thanks! I will appreciate any recommendation.

It's all about costs. If it will cost more than $6237 per year (over five years) then it would be an issue. If not, its not an issue. Based upon what you've said, it doesn't sound like an issue.

@computergeek... I have sent a Pm in your inbox. Kindly help me out. Many thanks and best regards

I've just gone through a Refurtherance Medical Exam requested by CIC at IOM Migration Health Assessment Center - Lahore today and a new Panel Physician told me that my previous Furtherance Medical Test was not accepted by CIC Health Branch in New Delhi because Panel Physician had not performed designated tests requested by CIC.

Only today, I have been told that my medical tests came fine (by Panel Physician) and these results will be uploaded to my CIC eMedical file in 1 day. These tests cost me only PKR9000

That's great news! So you should have a positive medical result within a few months and then your application can move forward.
