My mother came here on 6th Oct 2019, multiple visit visa. She’s here because I’m going thru a separation from my husband with a newborn baby. Her 6 months are completing on 6th April 2020. I’m planning to extend her stay. Please advice me when should I apply? I was thinking to apply by the end of February 2020. Also please suggest me what reasoning should I give for her extension?

Recommendation is to apply 30 days before expiry. The truth, though don't mention any thing like taking care of your child, which is considered work.

Okay so I guess we can apply in first week of March right..
while applying for visa we wrote she’s here for my moral support. Is “wants to spend more time with daughter” good enough?

You would rather want to explain the situation to IRCC and request to have your mothers visa to be extended as you think you and your daughter would need an emotional support from someone as close as your mother as you’re going through a tough phase.

Honesty is always appreciated.
