Hi fellows!!

I am a newbie to this forum and have a question which is coming up to my mind related to FSW & other Federal immigration programs.

I have observed that since Nov'16 IRCC has started relaxing the CRS criteria (cut-off going down and no of ITA's increased) which clearly means inviting more immigrants than earlier.

I wish to ask (if any of you have found this out earlier) that why is Canada looking for more immigrants (Skilled Workers)?

Will this not have any adverse impact on her own socio-economic condition? With increased number of immigrants, the job opportunities for local inhabitants will be lesser.

If i am unable to put my question straight, please ask me to elaborate on this.

Cheers !!

Seriously, what do you mean? Get your basics right!!
Canada hasn't relaxed any criteria, it is still 67 points. If you are talking about the Draws (CRS cut-off scores), that's just a system for choosing the eligible profiles in descending order of the CRS. Everyone with active EE profiles, irrespective of their CRS, is eligible to be admitted to Canada under the programme.

2nd thought: a developing economy always require more stuffs to boost. maybe they are trying harder to boost their economy by recruiting more skilled workers.

Its nothing unusual other developed countries have been hungry in the past & then restricted the net immigration to please the public sentiment. Yes based on current low CRS scores it seems Canada is hungry for immigrants at the very moment.

Think from Rulers/Govt point of view.Govt/rulers follow advise of economists & to them its just a simple numbers game.

Immigrants are just numbers but nothing else.
Multiply the above numbers with the amount of money the will bring initially, then when they get job then the amount of tax they will generate, retail spending, loans they will take to buy houses, cars & stuffs to buy on credit card etc etc

Remember most high skilled jobs will go to local inhabitants because they can provide Canada experience.
Initially most immigrants will get low skilled / no experience jobs & after years may move up the ladder after being able to show Canadian work experience.
But few immigrants with certain skills/industry will be able to get high salary jobs.
Certain immigrants will even find it harder to get survival jobs & spend the money from home & contribute to economy.
So its not like all the jobs will be taken away by immigrants.
Initially immigrants will be burden & put pressure on healthcare, schools etc but after some years will be contributing by paying taxes.

But on the long run you have numbers aka immigrants & more numbers i.e. their babies - who will contribute to the economy- by earning & spending & thereby paying X amount taxes to the Rulers/Govt & that X amount wouldn't have been possible without immigrants.
