Reapplying for TRV

Hi!

My friend is reapplying for his TRV to Canada and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for the cover letter, and what documents can support his application.

His application was refused because they didn't think he would go back to his home country and because they thought he did not have the necessary financial means to support his stay (10 days).

He attached his proof of employment (he has a full time job) which seemed like enough to prove that he plans to return. In addition, he attached his ticket which shows he will be flying back after 10 days. Regarding the finances, he attached his bank statement for an account with over $10k.

I'm wondering what he can say/show in his reapplication to prove that he can support himself and will be returning back to his home country.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

More information.

What is his job
Does he have any family or other ties
Did you write out a well thought out itinerary with day by day costs?

If he’s young and single and doesn’t have a long term well paying job at home it can be hard to show sufficient ties.

People do abandon jobs and return tickets all the time. Come to Canada and hope to find work and adjust. You need to overcome their fears of this.

It’s not impossible but difficult.

Thank you for this

He's has a permanent job at Deloitte and yes it is well paying.
He has family close by yes, (not very close but in the same area) but he didn't include information about this. Should he?
And what would you recommend including in the itinerary? (we've included meals, accommodation, transportation, tourist attractions and an estimate for general expenses)

I'm also wondering about the format of the cover letter and how long it can be?

I dont understand with the cover letter u mean?
For how long? Maybe the expert will inform us. But in my country- South Asia only took 3-5 business day tru VFS Global (i got it within 3days)
In my TRV application, as proof of my job i submitted as follows, 1st a letter describe my position in company, work from xxxx year to now, issued by HR dep. 2nd a statement letter, again from HR dept that they guarantee, i will return back to my country after my visit. 3rd copy of my employee card :) also I submited a copy of my passport with some stamps of foreign countries that i visited before.

Did you send him, invitation letter? My husband, Canadian citizen sent it for me along with his bank statement bcs my bank account only 1/3 of your friend has :)

I meant what is an appropriate length for the cover letter when reapplying?

And thank you! I'll make sure he attaches all those documents!
I'm not in a position to be able to send him an invitation letter so unfortunately that isn't an option.

I almost forget to say, please mention 2-3weeks visit. After TRV granted, CBSA officer in POE will asses and decide for how long your friend can stay (somehow i could convince them so i got 6months:) )

Sorry again but whats cover letter u meant??

I though invitation letter is important, as a friend you can send it (are you PR/Citizen of Canada?)

So my friend applied for a TRV and got refused. When reapplying, he wants to include a cover letter to discuss the points that were used as reasons for his refusal (not enough proof that he will return and not enough financial means to support his stay) I'm wondering how long this cover letter can be and what can be included in it to make it stronger.

And yes I'm a citizen of Canada but I don't believe my letter of invitation will be of any help as I am not independent, nor do I have a job and am still studying.

I dont think if he needs to write cover letter. Bcs there is a question about tht refusal on IMM5257, check below link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256ETOC.asp#5256E4

For invitation lettern, check this out
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/letter.asp

Meanwhile ask him to make travel history 1st by visiting some countries that he can do it easily (the neighborhood country? )

Okay I will look into that.. on other posts I have seen detailed cover letters explaining why the refusal reasons are not applicable.

And yes he does have travel history in many countries (such as Africa, NZ, Middle East) which he will include.

@Bryanna Hoping for some expertise on this issue? Also wondering if I could send you a draft of the cover letter for your input?

I've read many posts where you've helped several people successfully get their TRV so hoping you can lend a hand!!
