My apologies if this topic has been posted about before have had look and can't find relevant advice.
Really concerned about my daughter who is flying to Canada on Friday with boyfriend, he got visa through hers is pending. They already changed flights twice so just going to go hoping her visa be through within few days, it's been 15 weeks.
Usit booked return flights for months time so looks like just going on holiday which they will later change.
Could they be refused entry?
Thanks

The short answer to your question: Anyone can be refused entry into Canada at any time.

That being said, if the visa is granted, chances are slim that they would be refused at the border. The airline would not let them board if there appeared to be any issues that would prevent them from entering, so that makes the chance of being refused entry almost nil. Hope that helps.

We'll need more information to provide any kind of answers.

Where is your daugher from? (i.e. what passport does she hold) Is she from a visa exempt country?
What kind of visa is she waiting for?
What kind of visa does her boyfriend have? (Note: If he has a valid visa, then I don't see why he would be refused entry.)

There is no visa requirement to enter from Ireland, but as far as working. If she was not issued her work permit prior to coming to Canada that's a problem.

Does she have her job offer information etc.

She would not be eligible from the information provided to apply for a work visa from within Canada unless - possibly the boyfriend meets the definition of common-law.

As previously indicated significant details are missing that are needed to clearly understand her current situation and options available.

Thanks nbaker situation is that she applied for year work visa approx 4 months ago through Usit , leading Irish agency. It is due to be sanctioned any day , all requirements submitted for year work visa. Do they stop you at Canadian border and check visa details. She had done everything right in that she paid Usit to process visa just taking longer than expected

Interesting since the Visa office in London that is responsible for Ireland indicates a timeline of 2 months. If she doesn't have a visa in her passport on entry to Canada she doesn't have one. Might want to check with USIT about exactly what they've done or their promises which cannot of course guarantee a visa.

Looks like the best she can expect is a short visit and then home again, if she is allowed to enter Canada at all.

Nbaker huge delays reported at present for Canadian visas they are currently taking 14 weeks as there was huge Canadian recruitment recently. Taking all advice given, for which I am grateful, looks like best option is for her to present to Canada as holiday visitor and explain situation , hope for best
