Hi,

I just got an email saying I am ready for Visa issuance. I am going to travel to Buffalo on Tuesday. Can I expect to be out in time to cross to border into Canada that same day and get a flight from Toronto late that same day?

Could anyone offer some insight as to what can be expected in Buffalo and at the Border? Is it just signing forms and stamping passports at this stage?

For anyones information I submitted my application from inside Canada in January 2011, did Medical and RCMP fingerprints in July and August respectively.

Thanks for any help.

James.

1. Unlikely.
2. You drop off your passport in the morning and then you pick it up in the afternoon. Then you have to "land" and it is about a 2½ hour drive.

1. Buffalo issues the passport with the COPR. You go to the Border and you "land" You don't "land" at Buffaol
2. 32 business days + mailing time.

Can I still work once I have done everything at Buffalo and "Landed" on the way to Toronto? Or do I need to wait for the PR card?

I will be flying back to Calgary that evening, but it is a very late flight so I hope I can make it.

Thanks for your help.

Wait a second... If you apply for CEC in Canada and you are approved, do you need to go the states with your passport? Don't you mail it and then they send it back?

Thanks,
Congrats Oxygen!

You can mail it in but if you can get to the office it is quicker. I think you still have to leave then re-enter Canada though to complete the PR.
