Thanks Suja for your reply. What documents you needed to open the account and what was the procedure?

Fuad

Copy of passport and COPR. Need to carry original passport and COPR for verification. And fill the interrnational account opening form.

suja/drpari,

Is it necessary that settlement fund i.e. Scotia bank account should in primary applicant's name. We are planning to transfer part of settlement fund to Scotia bank and show the bank statement as proof of fund. I'm the primary applicant and the Scotia bank account is in my husband's name; he would be landing in Canada along with me. Is it acceptable?

Hi angelruth...that's perfectly f9 if the scotia bank account is on your husband's name because all the POF either needs to be on your name or it can be on the name of any dependent who is accompanying you which in case is your husband :)

Hello everyone, :)

I am form Pakistan & PR application is at last stage. I want to wire-transfer extra money (other than POF) via an exchange company to my brother-in-laws bank account in Brampton, Canada before landing. Could anyone plz advise if there are any charges on this & should I declare this money along with POF at the time of landing as once I open my own account after landing, I will move this extra money into it.

Thanks in advance.

Hello TAPTATANU,

I like the experience u share as it can be very helpul to new comers, from them I am one of them pls suggest me.

--- In blog I have read that calgary is very very good for job and new comers but comaparitively to Toronto in calgary weather is more cool, so can u suggest me where to land?

--- For us everything will be same coz. There we don’t have any friend nor relative. So our aim is to land where we can get easily job, House to live and can adjust in weather.

--- If we want to land in calgary on which Airport we should land? Same question about landing to Toronto also.

--- Where to go after landing? In Hotel or Guest house? What will be normal rent? If u have any name in mind nearly to Calgary or Toronto pls suggest.

--- What about medical? Coz. after landing if anyone could not feel well then I think there doctors will be quite expensive.

--- if u have list of Things to carry and not to carry then pls mail me in nimish_21@yahoo.in which will be very helpful to us.

Waiting reply from u
