dear shaka1,

so, did it take only 10 days for them to stamp the visa and return the passport?

10 day after you re-do your medical it take for them to get it then you get a visa wow

Actually, the OP did the re-medical on March 4 and received the PPR on April 4, so there was a 30-day window between the re-medical and the request to submit the passport for visa.

The visa was issued April 14, 10 days after the passport was requested, but the OP would need to state when they submitted the passport and when it was returned to them for that number to have any context.

Hi Mayank,

Medicals to Visa taking 3 to 5 months - that's the case in India - where they ask for PP, Visa Fee DD and medicals all at once.

In Malaysia, they send only the Medical test letter - only on completion of the same successfully, we get the PPR letter in a month or so and the visa is mostly a same day service to 10 days maximum.

thanks
kayal

India they ask all at once.

Regards
Mayank

My hubby had his redone october 30th I will post when he recieves his back but here is what another member found on the CIC ...

Concerning the Medical check , it says in the "FAQ" in the official website says that

How long will my application take if I need a medical exam?

After a medical examination with the Designated Medical Practitioner, the results are sent to our medical office to review. The medical office then sends their assessment to our visa office.

For temporary resident (visitor, student, worker) applications, it normally takes 4 weeks after your medical examination before we will contact you regarding the next stage of your application.

For permanent resident applications, it normally takes 3 months after our medical office receives the medical examination results from the Designated Medical Practitioner before we will contact you regarding the next stage of your application. This is true only if you have already complied with our other requests (e.g. to submit other documents)

hi all, my husband's medical is "lost" and I am thinking it is best to just redo the medical instead of waiting to track down the original "lost" one....any thoughts? Also, when we redo the medical, do we need to send our copy of the medical form to the visa office? (pretoria) or does the doctor just send his part to the medical office who then forwards it to pretoria? thanks everyone =)

My hubby scanned his receipt and sent it to the immigration with their original letter because it stated he had 30 days to redo his. We wanted them to know he redid the medical and what date and where. His original medical expired shortly after CIC received them I had called immigration canada and they told me not to redo them until they requested them because sometimes they have been known to extend them as well they are expensive. They did request them.

My question is why can it take up to 3 months for results? I questioned the VON nurses who come to my home weekly and they said there is no test that would take longer than one week for results back. When I called immigration canada all they did was quote what was on the site and had no further answers for me they couldn't answer my question.Someone should be able to answer this in CIC.Does it sit on someones desk collecting dust??
