Are you in security screening?
Means have you already passed eligiblity, criminality, medical is already passed in your case?
And are you only waiting background checks to be completed?

Whether you are also in security screening? And whether they called you for interview?
I have already cleared my interview in June - 2016 and medical in July -2016 and paid RPRF and after that no news... whenever I ask for update they give standard reply of background check is still in process....
So, it means that you are hundred percent under security screening.
Because normal background checks doens't take this much of time.
Background checks since July 2016 means now you are going to complete two years in background checks which is abnormal.
You should file Mandamus case to get out of it.
I think your medical would have already expired?
And what do you see in your MyCIC account?

I don't have access to check MyCIC as I have applied through consultant. But as per my GCMS notes my file is still in security...
Did you order any CBSA or CSIS notes?
Moreover, where your interview was conducted? Whether it was in Abu Dhabi?
And are you in Security Screening?
when you send email what answer you are getting from them?
Latest reply from VO is " your application is undergoing background verification checks" . How long can these take?
