Even if your wife were pregnant upto 6 months and you have PPR in hand, you can comfortably land in Canada and your newborn will be a Canadian citizen by birth. A pregnant lady can fly upto eight months with a doctors certificate, so there is no issue with that.
Otherwise if you want to deliver the baby in home country, you risk yourself of having quite delayed processing, more than a year,
PLUS the new law allows to strip off the Canadian citizenship to first nationality, your newborn will be exposed to that too.
But one thing to understand first, getting pregnant is not in anyone's hand, if you don't have any other complication, you should not wait for that to happen while PPR is in hand.
