Hey Everyone.

How do I start ??? Wowwwww,,phewww... App received on 9 th July 2014 and Got the passports with visas and copr on 10 th sep 2015(my timeline can be accessed on spreadsheet).. 14 months but unarguably the most amazing 14 months of my life.. And almost suddenly i realize today after getting everything in my hand that I do not need to refresh my g mail every hour in wait of an e mail or the urge to check the ecas atleast 5 times a day.. All of a sudden I feel empty.. The journey which started long back has culminated in such a wonderful way ,, honestly speaking its yet to sink in that I finally have what it takes to land as a permanent resident in one of the most developed countries of the world, that too after such a long time(actual journey started in 2004 , nevertheless that's a bygone era and a different story) .

Just couple of things guys : patience is the key word in the entire process, we can keep comparing our timelines with the rest of the world but we will get there only when our time comes. After getting PER or the erstwhile SLU, every case is unique. Have patience I know ,i know its easier said than done but I know what it means to wait endlessly. So hang in guys you will be through, sooner or a little later .

Thank you . I will be more than happy to answer queries with my limited experience. Wishing everyone the very Best.

Take care. C Ya.

Hi,

I got PPR day before and was told to submit passports to New Delhi visa office via VFS New Delhi.

Since I'm currently residing in South Africa, I raised a CSE with Warsaw to request if I can get passports stamped in South Africa itself. But, I haven't received a response from them as yet.

So, my question is, do I need a response from warsaw to do that. Or I can just contact visa office in South Africa for stamping?

Any help is appreciated?

Hi,
After a long abcence, I am back. I did landing with my family in Toronto last Thursday. All went very well. We stood in the line of visitors not with PRs and Canadian citizens, the police stamped our passports, scratched the immigrant visa on the passports with a line as it will not be used a second time though it will expire in April. The policewoman asked me to go to newcomers section, there a policeman checked again our passports and COPR documents, asked us for a Canadian address ( I rented an apartment from home at airbnb website), asked a few questions if I have any other not accompanying dependents, then asked us to sit and wait. We waited for about 45 minutes, then called us to sign the COPR in front of him. Then we applied for SIN and we got them back after another 20 minutes wait. We left and we picked up our luggage. We had nothing to declare except used clothes. I asked a porter to help me carry the luggage. I paid 16 cad for that, then we took a taxi and paid another 80 cad to arrive at our rented home. Good luck guys!

Hi Guys, I have already landed on 3rd Sep. I didnt gave any address to immigration officer at the time of landing. So he didnt started processing of my PR card. Now I have to apply for PR card by my own self. Do I have to pay fee of 50 CAD$ as suggested on CIC website. Please advice!!

I plan to do the same thing as I will be staying in the hotel when I land. Hope somebody will answer. I thought they will still process your PR card but you have to update your address once you have found a place to stay.
