Guys..I have a doubt..I sent my rprf via dd and it is not encashed still and the validity of dd will end by Aug 14..

We have local holiday, national holiday and a Sunday coming up from 14th Aug in India..

My question is that if my dm/ppr is not issued till that day...can that be considered as a negative in terms of my application (I am not trying to be negative..But prepare for the worst too,I suppose) and if that is not the case, how shall I renew the dd??Any idea guys??Plz hlp if someone knows something about the situation..

My TLU was on May 21..Nov 12 applicant..Warsaw VO

Thanks in advance

Just relax...It's their responsiblity to encash DD..you have done ur part.

In case they aren't able to encash it, they will come back and ask u again..If that happens, try to pay online by CC to avoid these types of hassles :)

Hi arkscan:

Good to see you active on the forum. When and where are you planning to land?

Winter lasts from mid-Nov to March....Sep and Oct are cool and pleasant actually...A bunch of ppl (including me) are planning to land in Sep...:)

If ur going for permanent landing...it's advisable to go in early Sep, to give yourself maximum time to settle down and adjust to the chilly conditions...

Or else, you can go in the 2nd half of March (I'd not advise this since there would be mere days left in ur Visa validity)

You can check the Historical Weather averages here->

http://www.holiday-weather.com/toronto/averages/
http://www.currentresults.com/Weather/Canada/Ontario/Places/toronto-temperatures-by-month-average.php

Weather actually is not a problem to tolerate. We have lived in US is the past so are familiar with the chill and snow in Nov-Feb.

I want to land in a period in which employment finding in the country is not overall slow due to bad weather. If you/anyone has any pointers in this regard please share or PM me

. If you have any pointer

Congratulations to everyone who got MR, PPR and Visa!

I still dont think delaying submission of FBI PCC is a good idea. There is no need to seek permission to submit something. Whenever you submit documents they immediately get added to your file. Whosoever reviews your file next will take a call whether this new doc in your file is relevant or not. If it is relevant the infor present in it will be used, if not then it wont. But the doc will continue to stay in you file. So my suggestion would still be to just go ahead and submit it along with the letter explaining why you are submitting it. By waiting for them asking for it you are running the risk of expiring the validity of your FBI PCC.

I agree with MK here. I am currently residing in US and had received the Indian PCC way before FBI(apparently it takes 10-12 weeks for FBI to process the request). While I was waiting for FBI PCC I did send the Indian PCC asa I received it. And along with Indian PCC I also sent them the reason for delay in FBI PCC.

Hi there friends,

I received an email to renew or extend the validity of the passports for me and my dependents. The expiration date is 13 months later though. The email wants me to send copies of identification page after the renewal.

Can you please advise me if this a compulsory or arbitrary action?

Thanks in advance,
Babak.

U shud renew it as if expiry of any of the family member is less than a year the whole family visas will have expiry of less than one year i.e. Earliest expiring date of any passport or medical receiving date which ever comes first. So go for renewal

Our passports (mine and my wife's both) are valid until 2016-08-29 while we have done our meds on 2015-03-11. Anyway, I can't understand why they asked for renewal.

Yes no need for family to stay for 2 months if the plans are as stated above by you. 2 weeks is sufficient for completing all formalities.
What you mentioned in point 2 is totally doable.

Thanks buddy!

Hi Friends,
Is it legally allowed to land in Canada and leave the country without collecting the PR Card, providing friend's address at the time of landing and asking the friend to courier /send via other means to home country of the PR holder?

If such an arrangement is communicated to the immigration officers at the point of entry will they object and not start processing PR card at all?

Do many follow such a procedure and have been successful? If its legal and allowed, am thinking of using it. Else, would want to physically stay in Canada till I receive the PR card, go back to home country to complete all obligations and permanently move to Canada.

Please advice.

Thanks and regards,
