I want to do short landing for a month in canada. and at the time of landing I will give my brothers address who is staying in canada.

after short landing, I want to stay out of canada for 6 months and then make permanent landing, due to some present job issues.

I want to know, what are the negative aspects of short landing, such as PR card etc

please tell me what are the risks involved in short landing.

If there is a big risk, then I will re arrange my plans

plz suggest

thanks a lot

No risks at all...:)..It's not illegal to give ur brother's address and it's not illegal to courier ur PR Card back to ur home country...Many many ppl have done it....Just make sure to take a set of photos as per specifications in Canada and leave it with ur brother so that if u receive a photo request, ur brother can forward it to CIC...Good luck!!!

Hi Friends,

Today, NDVO called in my office for verification. Luckily, I was in office ;D.

The first asked HR about my joining etc and then asked if I am there. I talked with the Lady for about 15 minutes and they asked me many questions about job, company , family etc.

At the end she said that we will get back to you soon.

Hopping everything is fine.

Regards,
Amar

Friends.. sorry for re-posting.. seems its buried under many queries.. by forum mates...

I have received my stampted passport and COPR. I need to land in Canada before April 20, 2016.

I don't intend to settle in Canada right away, I plan to go there for a couple of months in March 2016 to see and understand... I plan to settle there after a couple of years.. I have two questions:

1. My son's passport expires in May 2016, So I will need to get it renewed before we leave india in March 2016. Would it have any impact on Visa that is there in his passport?? Can I carry both passports for him. (Thats usually done in case of long term visa of USA I know from a relative)

2. As proof of funds, I need to carry about 19K CAD.
2a. Would this amount get revised for the year 2016, as the website mentions that it is revised every year.
2b. Can I carry a Prepaid card for this funds? Is it allowed??
2c. Can a limit of 10000 CAD cash is per person, or per applicant.

Awaiting reply,

Thanks,

Hello anilenviron,

I am not suggesting anything.
I am merely replying to your question.

As far as POF are concerned, you can have funds in any bank which allows you to withdraw it from an ATM/Branch in Canada.
You are required to carry sufficient proof to convince immigration officer, in case he asks.

That is just an answer to your question.
Now if you ask me for my suggestion, I would say why not open a bank account in Scotia bank. This way you have a working Canadian account even before you land. Scotia bank is one of the better banks in Canada and it is most likely that you will end up opening an account with them anyway.. Also you avoid all the hassle of cheque, draft etc etc. Just deposit the money while you are India, and get a statement of balance from them. simple.

Hi, thank you for the valuable opinion. I am opening an account with Scotia through Kotak. By the waty, have you landed?

Dear Friend,

1) Passport can be renewed, however, inform VO with updated number. Carry both together and land on new passport.
2) You don't need to carry CAD 19k, but should be able to show clearly the fund is immediately available with you in terms of Debit card, a bank statement will do, which can be further verified by IO online if required.
2a) no one can confirm
2b) It is fine, should be working internationally.
2c) Per family (instead of per person/applicant), but there is no problem if you carry more, you just need to declare.

Nevertheless, irrespective of your personal circumstances, I strongly suggest you to land without any delay. The reason is immigration laws changes anytime without any notice and it happened with some foram members the delay caused their visa REVOKED for some silly reasons!!!

Yes, a bit. You can still send an email or raise ecas to ask your application status. The one good thing is that your visa start date will be your MR done date.

But one thing worries me, why NDVO is taking so much time for some applications whereas Oct applicants are already started getting pprs. My suggestion is to update your LinkedIn,Facebook with your current and ex-colleagues contacts.

Btw , what's your your NOC?

I sent them an email. Here is there reply " Please be advised that your application is currently awaiting review by an immigration officer. Please see current processing times on our website.
We will be in contact with further information once this review has taken place. "

I can update my social media apps, but what do u mean by "current and ex-colleagues contacts", are they goin to contact my friends ??
I'm NOC 2132 by the way.

Dear members, I received my CAIPS notes file today, was wondering if you could help me understand it
This was written in one of the pages
ASSESMENTS
Eligibility: passed
Security:
HIRV:
Criminality: passed
Org crime:
Medical: passed
Misrepresentation:
Other reqs:
Final:

Also the due date under "APPLICATION ASSIGNMENT " is 2015/06/30
What dose it mean that security, HIRV, org crime and misrepresentation are blank?

not sure what this exactly means. Should I also look in other entries in the file?

Many thanks in advance and best regards

Looks like they are awaiting security clearance (CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking etc.). I can understand how frustrating it is.

Do you have any idea how long it could take more?
