Well, you should have definitely received PER by now.
Ask your agent to check and confirm.
If possible, change and put your own email ID on the application.

Sandhu,

Rather than going through all this trouble, why dont you open an account with Scotia bank itself.
They have some offices in India and you can also get Kotak Mahindra to do it for you.

yup thnx alok
will check dat too

take a print of your PPR email.
apart from passports, carry passport fotos and other documents (if asked in PPR email).
Go to the nearest VFS office. Pay their service charges and submit.

Thanks dear Alok,

do we need to fill any form for VFS ?

If we have valid US B1 visa you think we can prefer via US? Or still you would advise avoiding this route ?
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can travel but ready to recheck in your backs and go through all the security checks again, I wonder you dnt want to do that.

No. Just walk in. talk to them and submit. they will give you a tracking number.

Any bank is fine. Just keep account statements with you. Even better if you could get a statement done from the branch itself, with seal and signature.

So u suggest to go with HDFC/ICICI/SBI/KOTAK or anything like these. Are you sure. I do not need KOTAK account mandatory from here? By the way are you landed in Canada?

Guys,

Following link will give all information on how to open bank account in Scotiabank from India (probably other countries too)

http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,4362,00.html

Thanks

Hello anilenviron,

I am not suggesting anything.
I am merely replying to your question.

As far as POF are concerned, you can have funds in any bank which allows you to withdraw it from an ATM/Branch in Canada.
You are required to carry sufficient proof to convince immigration officer, in case he asks.

That is just an answer to your question.
Now if you ask me for my suggestion, I would say why not open a bank account in Scotia bank. This way you have a working Canadian account even before you land. Scotia bank is one of the better banks in Canada and it is most likely that you will end up opening an account with them anyway.. Also you avoid all the hassle of cheque, draft etc etc. Just deposit the money while you are India, and get a statement of balance from them. simple.
