Hi Friends,

Today, I have completed 1 year, the day my application was received by CIC last year. Still waiting for PPR.

Today, I got reply to my CSE raised on 6th July. This is what they wrote:

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Under Canada’s immigration legislation, all immigrant applications are subject to statutory requirements, including medical and background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. In this context, certain background investigations are being conducted in connection with your application. As these investigations are conducted by outside agencies, we have no purview over the processing time. We are therefore unable to give an exact time frame in which we expect to conclude the verifications on this case.

For now, there is no action required on your part. Please be assured that as soon as the checks are completed the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Any ideas what possible kinds of verification are there? According the GCMS eligibility was passed and they were satisfied with employment docs.

Amar

Ya, so whats the problem.
You are going to need thousands of dollars for POF anyway.
I dont think 25K INR will be a problem.

May not be a problem. But I heard all the Canadian banks are 0 Balance accounts. And by the way can you suggest me about POF's. Which bank is advisable and can I carry funds in Indian Banks? I am taking my flight on Aug 31st. No time either.

[No, if traveling via London with the the confirmed onward journey and if there is a layover of less then 24 hrs transit visa not required. Hope it helps]

It helps, thanks +1 to you

Any bank is fine. Just keep account statements with you. Even better if you could get a statement done from the branch itself, with seal and signature.

Friends,

I have received my stampted passport and COPR. I need to land in Canada before April 20, 2016.

I don't intend to settle in Canada right away, I plan to go there for a couple of months in March 2016 to see and understand... I plan to settle there after a couple of years.. I have two questions:

1. My son's passport expires in May 2016, So I will need to get it renewed before we leave india in March 2016. Would it have any impact on Visa that is there in his passport?? Can I carry both passports for him. (Thats usually done in case of long term visa of USA I know from a relative)

2. As proof of funds, I need to carry about 19K CAD.
2a. Would this amount get revised for the year 2016, as the website mentions that it is revised every year.
2b. Can I carry a Prepaid card for this funds? Is it allowed??
2c. Can a limit of 10000 CAD cash is per person, or per applicant.

Awaiting reply,

Thanks,
