Hi All,

I required a police clearance PCC from Vietnam (HCM) where is stayed/worked for an year or so.

Any advice on how to get one or anyone who had experience on getting one? Please share your experience.
For our dear Vietnamese applicants here, seek for your advise.. If any can extend help, it would greatly appreciated.

Could anyone brief me regarding response time of CIC for additional documents? I sent additional documents to Warsaw and they received it on 20th May, still not heard anything from them. When will they start processing the application, i still haven't received SLU or MR.

Dont sweat....same thing happened to me, I got PPR mail a couple of days before DM update in ECAS. Frankly, I didnt even bother to check the ECAS after receipt of PPR mail since the contents were clear enough. Congrats on PPR..start the landing plans mate ;D !!

Hi Everyone,

By God's grace, our PR application process is completed. We received our stamped passports and COPR documents on June 15th. As we are already in Canada on Work visas, We will be doing flagpoling on Niagara Falls port of Entry for landing process this Saturday 20th June.

We will be taking the below documents:
- Our Passports,
- Current Visa docs,
- COPR docs,
- Bank statements & a letter from Bank showing sufficient funds,
- Driving licenses for ID & Address Proof, Rental agreement for our daughter's address proof

My questions:

1) Did I miss anything in the above list?
2) I heard we need to declare any "Goods to follow" during landing process, otherwise they will impose import duty and taxes when we actually bring our goods. What about cash & Jewellry? We will not be bringing our Jewelry anytime soon, Cash maybe in next 2 years. We are also planning to dispose our property there and bring the cash here. if I declare all these, will there be no taxes at all later? Or, will I be taxed under different context? Please clarify or post any useful links on this.
3) Anything else We need to prepared for the landing day?

Hi anithaC, congrats on getting your PR. My two cents:

1. List seems ok, but please go through the CIC letter received along with CoPR. Correct me if I m wrong, but your passports are ur primary IDs in a foreign land, other country DLs may not be of much use except while applying for rental car for temp use or for Canadian DL application. Funds should be in readily transferrable form, so make sure to have something mentioned in the bank letter to that effect.

2. Refer last para of the CIC letter on Custom Rules & Goods to follow. See below website for more info:

3. Make sure to double check everything in the 1st website. I'd also recommend keeping a soft copy of all your documents of PR application submitted to CIC including MR, RPRF, VO correspondence etc just in case and also for future reference. Apart from this, lay back and get set to go. Bon voyage !!

Timing is not good for you. I guess you either need to negotiate with Seattle panel for an earlier date or fly to a different city where there is an available exam date that fits the required deadline. Extension from CIC may be more difficult.

I totally agree with Jeanp..either you get a earlier date from seattle doctor for fly to any other city as none of the nearby cities have a doctor on CIC panel..if you have a canadian visitor visa you can drive to Vancouver as they have many option ..but if not then you have to fly out ..

i have a question here!!

why would the Visa office do the criminal background verification after PCC, RPRF & medicals are done. Also, how do they perform these checks??

Bcoz ideally when you are providing the PCC, this should be sufficient for the VO to ensure there are no criminal cases pending against an individual. This has been one of the confusing points throughout this process on this forum..

There is a process CIC follows and that is one of things they do as a part of it.
