Hi guys

Is it wise decision to give resign after submitting passports for visa stamping?

Pls reply

Once you get your passports stamped with visa, you feel like a tiger and yell at your manager that you got what you've wanted which he cannot do it.

Since you have waited thus far, another couple of weeks won't do any harm and it's a complete peace of mind for you. If you are not at the stage you must quit immediately or you are asked to sign a long term employment commitment, I would suggest to wait till you have the visa in hand. Find some excuse to buy time. If you have the urge to yell at your boss or slap his face, by all means, refrain from doing so. You never know when you will need to contact this employer again in the future for job reference. Leaving a job or a country doesn't mean burning the bridge with them. My two cents. 8) 8) 8)

WHEN CAN I EXPECT PPR -----TIMELINE ON LEFT

Hello all,

I thought of coming back to this forum after a brief silence. Most of you can see my timelines on the left side.I am currently in Ottawa, Canada and its been 15 days in Canada. Weather is good here as summer has started.

Most of you have been thinking that many active forum members became inactive once they got their visa or landed in Canada. It is not deliberately done but things will change suddenly once you start packing the things and land in Canada. Its a completely different world where you need be very strong in embracing the change, culture and things around you.

Here are few things I'd suggest you to do some ground work for the people who are aspiring to land in coming months

1/ goto canada job sites like indeed.ca, workopolis, monster and try to find jobs which match your skillset.
2/ Do not apply to any one of them. Try to understand what exactly they are asking in the job description
3/ Do some work in understanding the things they've asked in the job. Try to learn them before hand. Online / youtube will work
4/ Try to find resume online. I'd suggest indeed.ca to find existing resumes
5/ Research everything. Try to take notes for the every job you see. List down everything you know or don't know
6/ Create LinkedIn profile and try to connect canadian recuiters/headhunters. search for companies like procom, quantum, randstad, hays, adecco etc..Send emails via linkedin to recruiters that you would be available soon and try to get connected.

I hope this helps for certain individuals to get a kick start.

I am still yet to find my first job in Canada. I am currently attending workshops / meeting new people to find the hidden jobs. It would certainly take few weeks to months to get a first job.

I will post whatever I find useful to this community whenever I find time but I wont be far away from you all.

All the best.

This is wonderful. Thanks for the update. helps a lot.....and gives support to people who are thinking in the same lines that they are not wrong....

NO.. this will not affect your medicals.. but make sure you tell them every detail of the problem she had & the treatment that was given. take old records of treatment with you for their reference.

Do not worry. This is not a issue at all.Stay peaceful. they check only for Sexually Transmitted Diseases and such kind...

Team, I am awaiting for the stamped PP. Between, let me know what is the minimum we can earn in a month through any of the odd job. Perhaps, applicants already landed there can answer this. Also let me know which is the best bank?. Is it CIBC or SCOTIA?. Also can anyone tell what kind of jobs do we have?.

Any May 12 Applicant still waiting to get PPR like me?
Medical done on Nov 11, 2014.

gather from people landed there...the best way is to find internship which will give you 2500 cad and then with that Canadian exp you can hunt for a full time job......where do you plan to stay in Canada....
