Dear forumites

I would like to share that I have received my PPR this morning. It was late than expected as I had not submitted my Spouse PCC initially. It was submitted after MR per NDVO request. For all the people who are wtng for their turn my advice is keep calm n focus on other things. Keep the faith n it wil b richly rewarded.

Big thanks to seniors who helped during my initial days.

Regards
Ram
Congrats nd +1

You need to have relative/friend at canada who can apply gcms notes on your behalf..
For GCMS

Hi Everybody,

I got my third line update yesterday saying "Your medicals have been received". Does it mean I passed my medical or they will further evaluate the results sent by doctor.
Also could someone please tell how much time more it would take for getting the passport request.

Thanks

FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

Dear friends,
Request answers for an urgent query.

I received visa stamped passport and CPR letter and along with these a letter with a set of instructions for landing and starting to settle in Canada.

One of the sentences says "In order to work in Canada, you need to obtain a social insurance number (SIN)".
I have got a short term work assignment (2-4 weeks) to Canada from my current Indian employer for which I need to travel on 15th June 2015.
I need to start working as soon as possible, may be on the same day after landing in Canada.

Could someone please let me know how many days will it take to apply for and receive SIN?
Can I receive SIN immediately at at the airport where I land? Will there be any serivce Canada centres in the airport?
I will be landing in Toronto.

Request you to please answer and PM me at the earliest.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Regards,
Kishcanada

Hi All,
I got PER on Jan 19, 2015 and no update yet. Visa office is London. I updated LVO regarding change of employment, address and asked about expected timeline for update. They responded as follows:
"Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your message. Your address has been updated in our system. Please note that your application is currently in queue to be reviewed by the Immigration Officer. We are unable to advise when this review will take place, however, please rest assured that we will contact you as soon as we are ready to further process your application. No further action is required from you at this stage.
We trust the above is of assistance.
Yours sincerely,
RIH

What you people suggest about this response and expected time of update?

Hello evryone
I hve askd this question in other forum too and all have advised me to ask here!!!
Need urgent help ..giving a briefing abt my case
I had applied in FSW 2014 in may 2014. In nov 2014 i got medical request and in feb 2015 my passports request.
After 2 days of submission of my passports i came to know about my pregnancy and
keeping in mind the complications and my earlier 2 miscarriages doctors advised me
against travelling.
I immediately informed the embassy via email ( in March,2015 itself) to put my application on hold. But despite of that they issue me visa(around 13-14 april 2015 i get a message that my passports have been dispatched) and the visa validity is till nov 2015 and due to some confusion at their end regarding my file no they replied me on mail that they have not asked for my passports(owing to file no confusion at their end)
Further I mail them pointing their error and further process in my application. Now they have replied me as

"Please be advised that your file is now closed and if you wish to travel to Canada after the baby is born, we will have to re-open and re-assess your application. Please note that there is no guarantee that you and your dependants will remain admissible after the new assessment"

What do they mean by re-assess..i would be counted in FSW ?
I am the main applicant..can my husband enter alone in canada, without me?what should be my next step of working as i dont want to loose PR. Nd being on bed rest it will not be possible..should i contact embassy again ??please help
What should be next course if action
1.requesting embassy again and saying that i have informed them on time and they should consider as i am the main applicant and on bed rest
2.come to canada risking by baby..apply for PR cards and return within a week and PR cards will be delivered to my relatives address
3.what exactly is RE-assess? Re apply from scratch or wat..
like according to the requirements at that time?

Anyone having legal knowledge????

I don't have personal experience but what I have learned from other posts of persons who have actually done it:

Yes, you can get the SIN at the airport. You will be given an number immediately as a print out which will serve your purposes as that is all you need (the number) for work, bank account etc., etc. They will mail you your SIN card in approximately 3 weeks. You don't need the actual card, just the number so you will be fine.

Received Passports and COPR

Finally thats the end of Phase-1.... Now getting ready to start Phase-2
Need to search for jobs in Canada, prepare for landing...

Thank you ALL !!!

One question remained... on CoPR, it says NOT FOR TRAVEL as water mark, is it normal?
Please confirm.

Yikes. If I were you I'd consult with an immigration attorney at this point.
