Hi Everyone!!

This is my first post since we applied for FSW Canadian immigration. Application was received by Canada office 2nd week May 2014, PER was received 2nd week Aug 2014 and we were informed that Mexico City is our assigned VO. The 2nd line was updated that our application is sent to the VO and is under processing. End of Nov 2014 we received the police certificates request and were also asked to pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) and had 60 days to comply (which we did in due time i.e. 20 Dec 2014). Since then there has been no update; no email, no status update, nothing. We did send an email to the VO a week ago and received this response:

Your application is in queue for review. An exact review schedule is not yet available. However, all applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received. No further action is required by you at this time. We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum

I don't think there is a rule as to how the applications are being reviewed. People who applied after us have already received their passport requests (although their VO is different from us; i.e. London). Any suggestions?

Just order GCMS notes, that will reflect whts holding your application, when would the next review date and all. Have you completed your medicals?

I sent my India PCC and Medicals on 20th April to NDVO and almost immediately saw the ECAS status say "Medical Results Received".

However, my FBI PCC wasn't in my hand then, so I sent the PCC yesterday to NDVO.

Now, how long can one expect to wait after this stage? And does "Medical Results Received" imply that the medical reports were clear?

It can take from weeks to month time. Although from current pattern , ndvo seems to be in full pace so can expect early too. Yes, third line updates means ur medical results r fine . Pcc shud be fine too as no one other than u knows past better. So just keep patience for ppr and status update on Ecas. All the best.

I have learnt from the forum that ICICI bank statements will not be accepted as POF at POE.

Has anyone had any success with just the bank statements ?

I do not want to create a Canadian bank account because i am travelling to canada only for 10 days.

If I make a DD in my name in Canadian dollar the bank debits that amount from my account . my question is if we do not use that DD will that amount again be credited to my account?

Also since this DD is in Canadian dollars while crediting it to my account will the buying/selling rate be applicable because the selling rate is different from buying rate and I will have to bear a loss of 2 dollar per every dollar.

So If I convert all the $14000 in DD , then i will be at a huge loss when converting it to INR because of the exchange rates.

Is there any other alternative ?

What is the best option to use without incurring a loss by the exchange rates.

I am very confused . Seniors please help me.

I can sympathise as I'm facing the same dilemna myself...

Look the truth is, INR Bank statements might be acceptable as POF...See here and here->

But the truth is, it's risky and most senior members advise against it...Not to mention CIIP, settlement orgs like Costi and most ppl I have asked have said that INR bank statements would be unacceptable...If by chance the POF is not accepted by the Officer at the Port of Entry, ur jeopardising ur landing for such a trivial issue...

So, unless someone posts an official source/ some senior member of this forum comes up confirming this with his/her landing experience, it's best not to take these risks...Be ready to absorb the exchange rate loss....Take the money in CAD with some amount as cash, some amount as Travel Card/ Travelers' Cheque and choose a good forex provider that gives u the best rates...That's all we can do...good luck!!!

(Also after u come back, u have upto 6 months to remit the unspent forex back to INR, so u can wait till the Exchange rate goes favorable)

Friend... TLU is just about medicals. ASb30 asks you not to worry about PCC approval as you would know you have a clear history. Good Luck :)

Mate this is not late, so many sept and even July, Aug applicants are waiting. When did u last heard from VO? If not since Jan then it would be better to request GCMS notes. That would confirm whts going on with your application.
All the best!!
