Got PPR email yesterday and today after submitting my PP at VFS I noticed it.

Congratulations !!!!!!

@tajbains

Need not to worry, it can happen before or after the email... totally depends on visa officer.......... Congratulations u r thru. If u got DM before PPR mail, there is high probability that ur visa stamping will take less time.

P.S: In case of negative decision, the applicant is given last chance to provide more info within certain time frame after which DM is made.

the Canadian immigration dept is probably the most unorganized dept in the world....by doc's were told to sent to the correct address as per CIC guys.... but last Friday I received a call from a Guy in Kochi saying that my doc's were mailed to his address along with his own doc's .... it was nice of that guy that he took the pain of calling me and sending the doc's to me.... or else i would be easily lost by INR 70,000 odd because of missed DD.....
Other waiting like me ... remember you may not be as lucky as I am ....

Only thing needed is confirmation from CIC/CBSA whether they would accept Travel cards as pof .

If travel cards can be shown as POF at POE all then everything is easy.

Hope you find way

I have a question here, there is nowhere in the CIC website which says we should carry all the POF that we have declared with us while we travel. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,

Can anyone suggest the lead time to get back passports after sending them for visa stamping to NDVO?

Passports received at NDVO on May 8th.

Thanks.

I'm afraid, you're wrong. Immigration officer upon your landing can ask you to show PoF and refuse your entry without PoF with adverse consequences.

Here is a section from "Prepare for your arrival in Canada page in CIC website. (Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/arrival.asp)

If you are outside Canada

When you arrive in Canada, you will be greeted by an officer from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The officer will ask to see your passport and other travel documents. Make sure they are not packed in your luggage, and that you have them with you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada.

When you arrive, you must have:

your valid passport and/or travel documents. Your passport must be a regular, private citizen passport. You cannot immigrate to Canada with a diplomatic, government service or public affairs passport.

your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and/or your permanent resident visa. The officer will make sure you are entering Canada before or on the expiry date shown on your COPR. Please note that we cannot extend this document, so you should make sure to use it before it expires.

proof that you have the funds to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.

The officer will ask you a few questions to make sure you still meet the terms to immigrate to Canada. They will be similar to the ones you answered when you applied. This should only take a few minutes.

You will not be allowed into Canada if you:

give false or incomplete information, or
do not convince the officer that you meet the conditions to enter Canada.

If you are not inadmissible and there are no problems when you arrive, the officer will allow you to enter Canada as a permanent resident. The officer will also confirm your Canadian mailing address. Your permanent resident card will be mailed to you at this address.
