I wanted an advice on the job front here. We (me and my husband ) plan to leave India in the month of July, so wish to know when should we start applying for jobs. Is there any possibility in which we can start applying from today without having our Visa stamped? Awaiting for a meaningful revert.

As per Canadian job experts, start applying 4 weeks before you plan to land.

Hi All....Got passport request mail..thanks to all the forum members for all the help.

But worries still not over...my spouse is expecting in next 6 months. V are having second thoughts on having the baby in canada, as I may get company transfer but that may take 4-5 months to process. So thinking to hav the baby in India. I did inform NDVO regarding pregnancy but given there is quite a bit time left in due date they hav issued PPR.

Plz suggest wuld it b an issue if i mail them requesting to delay passport stamping so the baby can be added, and wat wuld b the process fr that.

Firstly, Congrats for PPR email. Now you have 2 options:-

1. Send your PP's and get the visa stamped. Because, you can add your baby before landing and it will cost you $30, for visa reissue

2. You can wait for the reply of CSE (which is 30-45 days) and then proceed accordingly. It will delay your visa stamping process till you add your baby in application.

Choice is your buddy!

For me the third line updated in March first week.
I have sent my marriage updates and marriage certificates with medical reports.
I didn't get any update after that. What would be the next update and what would be the approximate timeline for that.

I refuse to believe a Travel Card loaded with CAD and with statement available won't suffice as POF ;D...it is the most liquid cash there is and can be carried safely!!..U can withdraw from ATMs...u can use it at POSs at merchant outlets..u can use it anywhere...if God forbid, it's lost, one phone call only to deactivate and the backup card becomes active (so ur not stranded without money either)

I don't want to open Canadian bank a/c from here....bcos ppl are advising for opening TD Bank A/c for Toronto (largest network)....will check further abt Travel Cards and let ppl know if I find anything....

Only thing needed is confirmation from CIC/CBSA whether they would accept Travel cards as pof .

If travel cards can be shown as POF at POE all then everything is easy.

There is no restriction on applying for a job and you can start applying for the jobs right away. However, Canadian employers may require physical presence for an interview before they hire you. But there's absolutely no harm in trying from India itself.

1. Try if u can schedule CIIP session (in person or online) ASAP
2. update ur CV as per Canada format
3. Yes, u can start applying from today. You can tell the interviewer tht u can only appear for in-person interview in July. Most of the employers won't give u that much cushion (unless ur occupation is really in-demand) but it will give u enough experience by mid june to be ready for "fruitful" job search.
