For those who are thinking of opening a bank account with Scotia bank, I had applied online on April 22nd (pretty straightforward if you have your COPR / Passort details with you). I got the account opening confirmation with details on how to transfer money using SWIFT code on 6th may in harcopy through postal mail. Overall, a hassel-free experience till now.

Will keep you guys posted on actual transfer and account activation formalities.
Cheers

Do you have your snap on Visa & COPR ?

On your GCMS, what is your most recent File location and case note?

File location ECU-EDO
Notes: PCC and medicals received for PA and spouse no concerns, file forward to officer for review...This update was on 12/3...and then next BFD was 25/4...

Its been 2months since medical..no PPR or DM..its really vry vry frustrating...losing hope n patience...
Dear Manisha,
Tomorrow might be the day for your PPR. Keep rolling..

Hope NDVO starts sending PPR's soon!

Looks like you file is on the right track.

I would reckon on 25th April, the file would have moved from ECU-EDO to ECU-RFV.
RFV should take 20-40 days and complete the pending criminality check for you and trigger "Ready for Visa" email.

Dear Experts,

My FSW 2014 application is in process. I have received PER on 20th Feb and currently waiting for MR. I believe my application is now at Colombo VO.

I did created an Express Entry Profile in January and I received an ITA recently.

Does this receive of ITA affects my ongoing FSW 2014 application?

If the Visa Officer see my Express Entry Invitation Letter ( application form ) will he put my FSW 2014 application process on hold or will he delay my FSW application process?

(Because i have seen other original Colombo applicants applications are moving quite fast, but mine is held up for some reason)

Please advice.

Thank You!!

I don't think it will affect your application my friend. This is my view

Even if the Visa officer sees your ITA, you may be asked to withdraw one of your applications. They wont delay your application because of it.

Once we cross PER stage, each file is handled differently by VO (Reasons only known to them)

Congrats on getting ITA and all the best :) :) :)

Thank you for your reply sk1984indian!! +1

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the Forum. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I just received my Visa and COPR and have an urgent question about landing funds. I used my pension contribution as Proof of Funds. I want to land in May (staying for 1 week) and return to Jamaica to wrap up my work situation. Can I use the pension statement and letter along with limited amount of cash at landing. Or do I have to wait until I resign and have the Cash in Hand. Seniors I await your guidance.

No, your FSW application has no repercussion to your EE ITA.
You can choose to apply for EE too however down the line you will receive notification to withdraw one application but I suppose by then you will have more clarity on which one will get you to Canada faster.

What was POF when you applied will now be termed as Settlement Funds when you immigrate to Canada.
Thus implying the money needs to be readily available when asked by an IO to prove you can sustain a livelyhood initially in Canada.
Suggest you have funds which are in CAD in form of cash or draft or TC etc.
Though this is a grey area we all talk about and try to figure out the best way.
However as this is pretty much the final toll gate for your immigrating into Canada, best not to take chances with Pension Statement which I presume will be in Local Currency and not CAD.
