I have a question in IMM5669E form. I was in US and in L1B visa my company tried to convert that to L1A visa and it got rejected while I was in US. In IMM5669E form for section A 6d and 6e I have put NO. I thought it was NO since it was rejected when I was in US please let me know if the below answer is right and if I need to correct what should I do now

Please note I am dependent not principal applicant.

been refused refugee status,an immigrant or premanent resident visa(includind a certificat de selection du quebec ) or visitor or temporary resident visa to canada or any other country? No

been refused admission to , or ordered to leave,canada or any other country? No

Called up my consultant and she informed that i got an PPR yesterday but she didn't check.

How much conversion charges does Scotia bank impose, any idea?

Also guys it seems that Scotia bank is really well establised in Canada, check out wikipedia. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_(banks))
Bank of Nova Scotia has over 3,330 branches. Anyone has any experience with them in Canada?

But i did not listen anything from LVO after phot request. 4 months and 20 days have been passed.neither 2nd line update nor MR...........

Scotia will charge you the day's FX rate and Rs. 1-2 will be the difference in their buying and selling rate. This is negotiable.
You will need atleast 30 days time to get the account opened up from India.

Yes, Bank of Nova Scotia is a good bank to choose. It is one of the Big Five.

I suggest sent the CC info.
This way you also get to know when actually your file was picked and charged.
Make sure you CC company has been made aware to expect a possible CAD charge of the amount.

Hello seniors.

I am trying to add my wife to my ongoing FSW2014 application.

The VISA office gave me a link to pay the fees for her online.

However, I cannot find an option to select FSW anymore.

Could you advise if its okay if I just select Express entry and pay the fee, as they will eventually get 550$ either way.
Or do you suggest I fill the Credit Card info and send it to them?

my VO is Vienna.

BEST WAY TO CARRY SETTLEMENT FUNDS

MDV Bro,

Most of us have been contemplating on this only.
Here is what I chose and why.

Did not choose to open a CAD Current account from India.

1)One of the key requirements I have is of a locker to keep the valuables i carry along safe.
Though most of the banks offer locker, my friend who just landed couldnt get one. Reason cited was unavailability.
This can be a case but will vary branch to branch.
Thus, I want to carry the money along and use it as a negotiation tool to secure a locker.

2) Fluctuating CAD.
Just about a month back 1 CAD was INR 49.12 translating to CAD 20,358 for an INR value of 10 LAC.
Today it is fluctiation around 53. Today's rate is 52.60 making the CAD as 19,011. Which is CAD 1350 Less (INR 70,200)
Usually with a new account, i do not have the flexibility to book a FX rate in advance, so will have take whatever is the debit date FX.

I choose TC.

Usually banks charge a 75 paisa markup per CAD but there are small local players who give it as low as .25-.30 paise per CAD.
With a TC, I have the flexibility to get it same day. I can choose to monitor the FX and the day I feel CAD is a tad bit weaker, I will book.
Obviously the above will need atleast 30-40 day of time in hand.

Well I have investigated on this matter

My findings are

1. Travellers cheque are now stopped by many banks only few offer it .

2. DD OR Travellers cheque or bank transfer is all the same all will undergo CAD conversion on the rate.

3. Scotia bank has a condition which is you cant open the bank account in 15 business days (which i think is 3 weeks) .This impacts people who have booked ticket say 1 month prior and still waiting for stamping and know that visa stamping will take some time .

Ticket prices will be high if you want to go early and you want to book ticket after getting visa

4.Icici bank looks good as they don't have such 15 condition and you can draw money as soon asap .

Only worrying thing about ICICI is that they will give statement in courier and for the courier to reach us will take 5 working days and you must be knowing
Bangalore courier boys are not worth trusting as they don't deliver most of the times.

Also from ICICI customer service it is known that more than 50 people have travelled using ICICI statement

5.There is HSBC as well but I have not explored .

6.There is a option of buying DD as well if opening account takes time and doesn't sit well in your travel plans.

I would like to have debate on this with forum mates /my frns ;D
