@arkscan,

Actually, they asked me to send PCC, RPRF and PPT bio pages on 4th september. DD has been taken on 29th september and reached NDVO by 30th Sep. On 9th april, NDVO asked to submit MR and updated bio pages of ppt only and NOT another RPRF. ::)
Bank officer asked me to check by monday for my DD status.

Do i necessarily need to raise CSE to intimate about DD's validity? or wait for them to email me(Since they haven't requested for another DD)???

Hey katvees that's a matter of concern :-X, even this page over here->

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=IN&lob=rprf

mentions the following->

"Important notice: Bank drafts have a limited validity. Ensure that your bank draft is not older than 3 months when it reaches our office."

Are u sure ur RPRF is not encashed? Check with ur bank..if not, then raise a CSE with Urgent tag....Btw u paid only RPRF back in September? NDVO asked only for RPRF? ::)

For PPR, it can take anytime between 30-60 days...(some ppl have reported in 15 days and some have reported in 90 days though ;))....Wish u get it sooner, u have waited long enough...:)

Hey seniors!

Need an advice..

What is the best way to carry funds?

Planning to land in next two weeks.

Hello Buddy. Did u raise cse or tried getting GCMS notes since four months seems to be long time from TLU.

Pray that you soon receive PPR. All the best.

As usual they didnt reply my CSE. As per GCMS, criminality is in progress for me, hope to get this agony over very soon & get my PPR :)

Hi Seniors,

My spouse passport expired on 27th Sept 2015 and hence we got it renewed and sent the new passport copy to NDVO on 20th March 2015.

And on 30th March 2015, we have sent them a mail asking for status. We got the below reply from NDVO today

"We have received the requested information/documents (Copy of passport for Spouse) and your application is currently awaiting a review by a visa officer."

1. What is meant by REVIEW BY VO?
2. How many more days they take to send the PPR?

Thanks,
Prarthu

Please refer to - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/landing-in-canada-all-you-need-to-know-t36735.0.html

What it will say

MONEY: PROOF OF LANDING FUNDS:
What Proofs Are Acceptable?
If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:
• Cash
• Securities in bearer form (for eg, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
• Negotiable instruments in bearer form (for eg, B/drafts, Cheques, TCs or MOs).
Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

How Much Funds Can I Carry?
There is no Max limit... we can take Millions, if we can prove its legitimate source & declare anything at/or more than $10,000 [that's the CBSA regulation]. There is a Minimum limit though... we must carry at least or more than what CIC requirement states, vis-a-vis for the no. of pax in the family [accompanying].

Tax & Duties Component:
The funds we bring inside Canada are Non-Taxable. It is only the 'interest' earned on that which is taxed. The moment our funds start accruing interest [while lying in a Canadian Bank a/c] the bank will start deducting tax 'on source'. The same applies for any 'investment' in Canada that we make with these funds.

BANKING:
Though most international banks operate in Canada, the 3 main Canadian Banks are presumably the best, in terms of their presence, availability & location of ATM machines, branches etc.:
1) Scotiabank,
2) TD Bank, &
3) CIBC

Jigyasu, I m also from 1224 category. My slu was 24 feb. App date: 4 sep. Still waiting for mr. My contact no. Is 9915181937. U can share ur no. Pls . So that we can discuss progress.thanks.
