Coolguy31,

FDs from the Bank of current country of residence are accepted in the port of entry as well. One friend in another forum have send a case specific inquiry to CIC regarding the same and CIC have replied to him, like yes he can proceed.

He is travelling end of this month, and for safer side, he will be taking that reply mail from CIC along with his FD balance sheet.

Also, there is nowhere in CIC website, where it mentions, we need to show POF in CAD.

How much money to bring while entering Canada ?

There is no limit to bring money to Canada by a PR
You need to declare at immigration check that you hold more than $10,000
It is not mandatory to bring/carry the same amount that you showed at the time of filling/showing Financial Proof (forms)
Other money if less than $10000 you can carry a travelers cheque/DD or even can transfer money later on when you are settled
Immigration Check team/people will sure make sure that you have enough money for 1 year survival before you are landing
This thing they will conclude by few basis questions in form of small interview at time of immigration check
The money you have showed POF or intending to carry are already taxed, so whenever you bring to canada in some part of full, those amount will always be non taxable in Canadian terms and accounts
In case of transferring huge amounts, one need to prove that all part of it is already taxed within your origin country

Hi mmvp,

Congrats.

PCC - You can apply to the local PSK for the PCC. That will be quick wrt if you apply to the DM office. You can apply online and get appointment with PSK.

RPFR Fee - You can pay using any credit card online. You can pay online through your International Debit Card also. I used paying ICICI Visa debit card.

No piles does not affects your medicals. Please remember - Do not disclose any info which is not asked by the doctor.

Cheers n best of luck...

I am going for my MR on Monday..My kid, spouse and myself. My kid is 6 years old. Do I need to carry any immunization certificate of my kid?

What kind of certificate is to be made??

Is there any format... Please share the link asap.

Thanks,

hi mmdp....

You can get PCC by two ways.. one by Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).. schedule and appointment and go with required docs and original passport. secondly by going at your local police station and forwarding the request to Commissioner of Police through local police station.

I have done through local policestation in Ahmedabad, and was a little headache.. I had to prove that I am not a criminal since i attended age of 18..for my wife i had to go through all police stations where she had lived post 18 years.. big big headache... I therefore suggest go through PSK.

Carry your kids doctors file. I think all the pediatrics have a standard file where they maintain all the immunization record. When asked you can show this.

Hi,

It will be great if I can have answers to below couple of questions,

1. Since there is a restriction on taking more than $10000 across the border. So what are the options available if one has to carry more than that?

2. When it is a good time to move to Canada, I heard people go on vacations in summer (June/July) so low number of job vacancies become available in this period.

Thank you.
