Dear Folks,

I will be landing before my wife and kid. Will I be able to apply for their PR / SIN & Health card before they land?
Is there an checklist of items which needs to be done just after landing and the associated docs needed?

Buddy, I know one gets request letter from VO for medical but as an alternative CIC does provide this option of getting it done upfront.

Its perfectly legal......however in this case you are required to submit the proofs provided by the hospital to Visa office along with other RPRF docs when you actually get the request.

See the below link.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/index.asp#chap4.3.2

4.3.2 Upfront Medical (IMM 1017B Upfront)

This form is usually sent in that MR request from VO......however one can download this and submit to Hospital. One of my friend got it done as well. I am pretty sure of this process. However, my concern is that it doesnt delay the process.

Buddy, Pls read the link you provided, it very clearly mentions you need to submit them along with visa application and not in between
"UFM examinations are performed when clients report to a panel physician for their IME before a visa application has been submitted to CIC. Clients who are eligible for UFM examinations will not have a Medical Report (IMM 1017) issued by CIC nor will they have an existing file in the eMedical system.

Panel physicians should not refuse to examine these clients.

Panel physicians must ensure that they provide the client with the proof of having completed their upfront medical examination. For eMedical, the proof is the “Information Sheet” letter that they will print. For paper-based upfront medicals, it is the top page of the IMM 1017B UPFRONT form. Clients must include this proof when submitting their visa application.

Since an IME is valid for 12 months, panel physicians should remind clients to submit their visa application along with the proof of having completed their upfront medical examination well before the expiration of the 12 months; otherwise, the client may have to undergo a second IME."

You wont be able to apply for their PR as the PR is applied by the immigration officials and it is taken from COPR which they need to carry while travelling. For the checklist, you can go through the below links:

Could you please advise whether we can do upfront medical check up for new born? Me and my wife have already received MR but waiting for child's MR.

Hi

I need help. I am highly confused with the recent events. I have received passport requests email without medical request.

I am August 6th Applicant.

My second line got updated and says that started processing application on March 26 and on 31st March I received Passport request email. I have not received any medical request so far. I am confused, I have mailed to Delhi immigration but no response as of yet. They do not even entertain on telephone.

Should I wait for their reply or should i send my passports to Delhi for stamping as the email suggests that one should send the documents within 30 days after receiving the email. its going to be 15 days now almost.

please help what should I do? is that email valid?

regard

Go right ahead n send your passports bro. If at all the fault I'd at their end. You are only complying with their request.
All the best.
