me and my wife Completed our medicals on 28th march but still 3rd line not updated... :-X bit confused!!!

Did u check with the Hospital, did they upload the results, if yes when did they upload the results?...And it was a holiday at CHC from 3rd April to 6th April, you need to wait for at least two-three working days after hospital upload for the 3rd line provided everything is fine....

And the Hospital said everything was clear right, no furtherance would be required?...I expect it will come tomorrow, it generally takes upto 24 hours for ECAS System to update after they have done it and this is the first working day of the week..Cheer up buddy..:)

Umm most of the times yes...But sometimes No....Like say, I was reading the example for an applicant with past history of TB, the Panel Physician didn't ask for further tests since X-Ray was clear but the Canada-based doctor which reviewed it asked for sputum test after viewing the results...Anyways this happens very very rarely so don't worry about it....Best thing is to ask the hospital once...I'm sure ur 3rd line update would come soon...:)

Hello all
I am new in this forum but following since 5 months.
I have few query
1)I hv submitted my hubby's FBI Pcc on 14 march
How long it will take to get MR?
2) I had meningitis in 2004 and done shunt surgery for that would it cause delay in medical report? Or would it impact negetive on visa?

Maddy,
1) FBI PCC has no relation to MR. They happen in parallel. Before the MR is issued the VO initiates the background check from an employment perspective and they also initiate the other verification's. Typically they ask for PCC to be submitted along with medicals.
2) It should not but primarily they check for any communicable diseases. If you have all the surgery related documents then I suggest you carry them along with you during medicals to be shown to the medical officer

Hello friends..

I will land in Edmonton on 10 April.
I need to know that
1. Can I carry CAD8000 cash and rest in travellers cheques.. Yes you can
2. Do i need bill for the cash foreign exchange ?? Keep the bills if you have but generally they don't need to know as you would have already shown the PoF. What i mean is that they already know the source of the funds

I do not have any bills for cash.. but i have for travellers cheques.. Keep the bills that you have as a precaution
Will it be a problem..

Please help

Regards

Guys I have some questions.

(1) Best way to carry funds to canada? - Combination of cash, TC etc..details given below
(2) How to open accounts in scotia bank from india? - You can open through Kotak Mahindra Bank. They have a tie up
(3) Is it mandatory to carry all the POF at the time of landing? - Yes
(4) Is it beneficial to open an account from india or open bank account in canada is good option.. ( I have read somewhere that at the time of opening bank account in canada will give you more benefit then india) - Its your convenience but then you will need to provide photo id, address proof etc when you try to open in canada

Thanks

Some good links & ready information
Please do verify the POF (proof of funds) before you plan to land - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

http://travel.gc.ca/returning/customs/what-you-can-bring-home-to-canada

If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official (CBSA) when you arrive in Canada. In the Declaration Card you are asked to declare all ...you also have to declare currency ... totaling CAN$10,000.00 or more.
These funds could be in the form of:
•cash
•securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
•negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders).

If you fail to declare currency or monetary instruments (signed travellers cheques, bonds, etc) equal to or more than CAD $10000, then it will be seized under the "proceeds of crime (money laundering) and terrorist financing act". Failure could also result in penalties, seizure and/or prosecution.

If you have LESS than that, you have no requirement to declare it. You may be asked to show it as part of the Immigration interview.

I have some questions about second line update and medical request.

According this post:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/step-by-step-processing-of-fsw-application-by-cio-and-vo-t137628.0.html

Second line updates when local visa officers finish the eligibility review on our cases and the next steps are to assess our admissibility. Since background check(call employers...etc) is done before second line, why does it take such long time to issue ME? I know many people not receiving medical request after several months of 2nd line update, is it just because the officers are being lazy, or actually there are other procedures between 2nd line update and ME request?

Thanks!
