hi friends,

short question, i'm about to send my newborn docs to VO..I just want to make sure if the birth certificate is already in 2 languages (my native language + english), do we have to notarized it again?

please reply, thanks a lot

If already in english along with native language. No need to notarized. Don't worry. Send it!

Yess...only at the Time of landing in Canada as a PR....say when ur arriving at Toronto Airport...No further checks on POF will be carried out during the process..

In ur case, first u will get PPR now...then Passport Stamping with Visa, then u book a flight to go there and then show the POF if Customs Officer asks...Not before that....:)

Amount (EE link though)->

Thanx for useful info and +1 for sharing experiences

PoF is needed only during your landing. The VO needs evidence of the PoF which you would have submitted along with your application. Now you can sit tight and relax until you get your CoPR and are on your way to Canada for doing your landing formalities.

Hi all,

In my ECAS I see the second line as "Your medical results have been received". Isn't it weird that the processing started line doesn't exist?

You have show PoF in canadian dollars and not in Indian Rupees. You can open a Scotiabank a/c through Kotak Mahindra Bank before flying...

No you cannot show POF in form of Indian FD.
You need to carry that amount to Canada in following ways:
1. cash
2. documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
3. documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).

Congrats & welcome to the wait for DM and PPR

Do you usually check your ECAS all the time, and you just saw the update now?
Or you haven't checked for a while before checking now?
Am just asking cuz I assumed they are off, so no updates will be made ;D

My file is transferred to Colombo .. maybe the reason

You don't need to get it translated in any other language. But since you will be sending the copy of the birth certificate you need to get it notarized.

Any amount in Indian currency is not acceptable for PoF. You need to show them in Canadian currency. You can open an account with scotia bank thru kotak Mahindra bank and deposit the money there to show it.
