Hi Everyone,

Got my 3rd line update Yesterday...... really Happy :) :)

The only thing is that my consultant doesn't seem to have received the RPRF mail. I thought this usually comes along with the Medical request. My MR came on the 21st march , medicals were conducted on 23rd Mrach and yesterday got the 3rd line update.

I'm getting a little worried regarding the RPRF mail even after my consultant telling me that there's nothing to worry.

Experts/Seniors Pls guide.

Best Wishes
-A2can

Congratulations Buddy !!! :) :) :)

Would like to share one thing, there were some queries way back if RPRF can be paid online to LVO and should some one fill the details (like DOB, UCI, address etc) after printing RPRF receipt.

My answer is Yes it can be paid online, preferably send filled details one.
But if someone has sent unfilled version of RPRF receipt, do not worry as in my case I did the same and By grace of Allah it was accepted as got my PPR today. Although i did update LVO by filled version later through email. So you can do the same.

Good Luck to you all! :)

Hey Guys any alternative to send PP to NDVO other than VFS. They are a rip off.

Spicy!!!

Buddy,

We spent so much money & time on our application (WES, IELTS, Transcripts, Photo copies, Print outs, Consultant \ Lawyers (in few cases like mine), Notary, Traveling charges \ Phone charges to contact Consultant \ Lawyer \ Friends for assistance, Courier charges, CC\DD Charges, MR Charges, PCC Charge, RPRF DD \ online, etc.). I guess in the last phase, i would choose to go with VFS because you can track the status of your application.

If you choose to send it through Courier (Blue Dart), They are good in delivering it next day. However NDVO returns the Passport through Speed Post which means we will have no clue whatsoever when the passports are dispatched from VO.

PS : I am not passing any judgements. These are my thoughts i wanted to share with you as a friend.

Choice is yours

Hi All,

Finally, I got my visa stamped passports on 27-March-15. :-) Thanks to all wonderful guys in this forum, who have provided a lot of help during this process. This is incredible place to get help.

I got time till Oct-15 to move to Canada as PR. I have a couple of questions regarding landing.

1.In the application, i have mentioned Toronto as Destination City. But, now I'm planning to move to Vancouver to get PR.
Is that fine or i need to land in Toronto only?

2. Currently, I'm in USA and have plan to move in mid May-15. Then, come back for couple of months to wrap up my job duties here. Is there any implications in getting PR and then coming back to USA for some months?

If no implications...
- is there any timeframe to go back to Canada after getting PR?
- any idea on number of days it takes to get PR card?

Regards,
Raij1

You can land anywhere except for Quebec. so you are good to land in vancouver.

Once you complete your landing, You can go to USA and come back. There are 2 options

  • Request for Travel documents for leaving Canada without PR Card
  • Have the PR Card delivered to your friend's \ relative's address in Canada. Have it sent to you in USA. You can use PR Card to enter Canada again.

hey Folks,

As most of you know, there are non profit organizations in Canada that provide settlement and employment services to new immigrants. I just came across one - http://www.woodgreen.org/Home.aspx

They appear to have a fairly evolved volunteer program - some of the volunteers here are actually HR professionals at leading corporations.

Happy hunting!

in complete agreement with SK - I am not even taking the risk of opting for home delivery of PP after visa. I will go over and collect it from VFS. Also, I think they charge like 379 per passport for the delivery of passport which is over and above 579 per PP to send over to the high commission.

PPs are elite documents - especially when they are (inline to/already) have the PR visa.

Dear Friends,

I need your urgent assistance.

Can you plz tell me if RPRF should also be paid for children who are younger than 16 years old? OR should it only be paid for the main applicant and spouse?

Your soonest help is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hi, RPRF is paid only for the main applicant & spouse. Dependents 18 years and below, are not included.

All the best ;)

For friends who like me have been trying to struggle to find a viable solution to carry Settlement funds.

Excluding the option to open a bank account, I found that HDFC Prepaid forex card is a inexpensive solution too.
http://hdfcbank.com/personal/products/cards/prepaid-cards/forexplus-card

125 INR is the charge for the card and 2 CAD fees for withdrawl from ATM.
Question to folks in Canada - How much does an ATM remit in a single go? In India, it's INR 10,000.

The other option is of travellers cheque but they one HDFC offers is charging .75% Which for 10Lac INR translates to Rs. 7500. Found that to be steep.
http://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/products/forex/travel-solutions

Hope this helps.

Hi Bro,

How do we prove the travel card as POF on landing in Canada?? As in if the Officer asks....We will have to show him the balance statement is it? :P

I'm familiar with the Card as it's a favorite in my Company's corporate travels...hence grown comfortable to use it as well...It's convenient, safe, can be blocked immediately in case lost (and there's a duplicate provided which gets active if you lose the original so that you face no hassles), and the actual withdrawal would take place at ATMs...but I only have doubt on this Proof of Funds question (and of course the ATM charges/withdrawal)...:)
