Coming to ur queries-
a. PCC->
In India you can obtain the PCC (police clearance certificate) through 2 separate channels
1- From the Commissioner of Police. Local police stations would just route your application to the Commissioner's office. The validity of the PCC obtained from the police station is less, typically 3-6 months..In some cities like Hyderabad, you can apply only @ the Commisioner's Office, not sure abt Ahmedabad
2- From the Passport office/PSK....the validity of the PCC would be one year
Both PCC's are acceptable for immigration purpose. But typically, most of the people opt for PCC from the passport office
