Hi All;
I will be arriving in calgary in a couple of weeks time, however my flight is via Toronto (7 hour stop over in toronto). In this regard I have the following concerns, and would appreciate the assistance of fellow forum members:

1. If I am only transiting through toronto to calgary, will I have to complete my landing formalitities in toronto or can i defer these till I land in Calgary? note that as per my copr my desired POE is calgary
2. If I do my official landing formalities in Toronto, but give my give address as calgary will I be considered an Alberta resident or Ontario Resident?
3. If I do my formalities in toronto but give my address as calgary then can I apply for my SIN and Health Card in Alberta the next day after landing in Calgary? And will I get immediate health coverage in Alberta as any other newcomer to Alberta would (who does landing formalities in Alberta?

Also, what difference does it make If I do my landing in toronto on my way to clagary? Any special consideration needed?

Based on the information you provided above, your landing formalities will be done in Toronto. This however does not have any negative impact on your residency.

Yes, you will also get your SIN at the Pearson Airport in Toronto within few minutes if you land on a working day. And giving a Calgary address while completing your landing formalities does not also have a negative effect on you.

This was exactly my situation when I landed and there was no issue at all, as we got our PR cards in our Calgary address. Calgary was also written as my POE on my COPR and I completed the landing procedure in Toronto.

Your health card will be applied for when you eventually arrive in Calgary and the coverage will be immediate.

As you can see my timeline on the left side. I ordered GCMS notes last month which I received day before yesterday. It states Eligibility, Criminality & Medical have been passed. The next due date 30-09-2016 which has been passed as well as I just received the GCMS notes. Any idea why there is so much delay for issuing PPR ?

I submitted passport to Abu Dhabi Embassy on 22-Sep2016 but still not received back.

Can any one tell that normally how much time they are taking for visa stamping.

As per letter it is 4 weeks but I come to know that they are issuing before that.

Any idea!!

As per the trend it could be anytime between 2-4 weeks. hopefully you should be getting it soon

Hi All, I watched this forum very closely and prayed hard just like you guys until I got my break through in February. I moved to the GTA in May and has succeeded in finding an IT job in downtown Toronto. I pray and wish all a speedy process.

No credit check is required for the remaining lease, but you will need to complete a credit check to extend the lease.
