Hi everyone! Please i need help regarding present situation. I am in canada right now. Stayed and granted an extension. My big problem is my tourist visa is about to end in two weeks time. And the big problem is i have an examination to take in last week of april here in canada.. pls advise if it would be wise and safe that i will go home to my home country and re enter 3 days before my exam? My big question is how many months do a tourist needs to be out of canada before one can re enter?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

There's no black and white rule. Whether you are allowed into Canada and how long is up to the immigration officer you encounter at the border.

If you have been in Canada a long time and are returning after only being away for a few weeks, it's possible the officer may be concerned you are attempting to live in Canada without authorization. When you return for your exam, you should keep the trip very short (long enough to write the exam only). Make sure you have a return ticket and also carry proof of ties to your home country. If you do that, you should be OK.

There is no such thing as "waiting time". Depends on your specifics.

You need a valid TRV for entering Canada, so if it is expiring in two weeks time you will need a new one for entering Canada again.

Keep that in mind.

Scylla and jalex23,
Pls i need your insights on this. What if instead of going home and be back after few weeks forthw examination i will apply for an extension again (2nd extension)? This examination is really important to me that i need to take it. After the exam i can leave canada. Maybe if i can apply for secind extension i will explain it to yhe letter how important this examination to me. And how long do you think they can decide to approve the extension? So that if they wont approve it i will leave right away and be back days before the exam..

Thank you.
