Hi everyone,
I am looking for some guidance on the following,

I am a British Citizen on a study permit in Canada (ontario). I am getting married to a Canadian Citizen in august 2017 (I am still in school on a visa until 2018). We are looking to take our honeymoon outside of Canada and I am worried that when arriving back to Canada that I will have problems on re-entry since I will then be legally married.

I am wondering if I will first need to notify Immigration Canada that I am now married or will re-entry not be a problem since I am still under my study permit.

If anybody has knowledge in this area, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.

i am just concerned that when I Re-Enter Canada with the airplane Entry forms, that will now state on the form that I am married, that the Canadian Border Official may have a problem with me just getting married in Canada while under a study visa.

Is this something to worry about?

Where does it specifically say married on the declaration form other than a give away if same family name and address .If in doubt anyway your spouse completes a separate form and goes through a citizen line. http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e311-eng.pdf

Even the ETA application does not ask if someone is married or not

You are worrying for no reason. It is perfectly fine to get married while in Canada on a study permit.

Other advice is to get started on your PR application without delay once back from honeymoon. Good luck.
My study permit was issued in 2016, does this mean i will need to apply for an ETA for Re-Entry

Thank you for your help.
