I recently received my PGWP in the mail. I am planning on travelling to the UK in December and returning in January and I am concerned about not having authorization to come back to Canada (on my pgwp it states "does not authorize re-entry" and old study permit expires before I leave). It also says "temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6)." Does that mean that my TRV has been extended to expire the same time my work permit does?
Online sources seem to tell me that I don't even need a TRV because my home country is the UK and instead I need an ETA. The note at the top of this web page (cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp) indicates that I might have been issued one automatically, but I have no way to access or check it because I don't have an application #.
Anyone been in the same situation recently? Seems like there have been some changes to the system over the last couple of years and the online info is pretty confusing.
