Re enter Canada required to receive new work permit? (POE)

Hi,

I currently live and work in Canada and just received my POE letter for a new 1-year work permit. The POE letter states the work permit will be issued once I enter Canada. Can I just go the airport, is there any other possibility or do I have to rent a car and drive to the nearest border?

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I could not find an answer via Google or in the forum search.

I can't delete my post so I just answer it myself if someone else finds this.

Yes, you have to leave the country to get your new work permit. I did it at the Point Roberts border. Flagpoling is the keyword.
