Applying for common law (through my Canadian boyfriend, I am swedish) in July. My visitor visa runs out in June (a month and a few days before we can apply) so my plan is to apply for an extension on that and then apply for common law. For this I have 2 questions;
1. Should I mention in my extension application that we are applying for common law/does it matter?
2. We are applying via the application that allows me to apply for a work visa (inland I believe?). If our application for some reason is denied can we re-apply and if so can I stay in the country while we do so?
Thank you!

1. Yes, tell them you are going to apply for sponsorship. You could pay the $1040 PR fees and include the receipt to show them that you are serious about it.

2. Don't worry about the PR app being refused. As long as you meet the requirements, it will be approved.

Great thank you!
We are wanting to go to the states for just the day/one night in june/july or august.
Do you think that would be possible?

Great news! I would just be able to exit and enter on the same ststus?
Visitor status ends when you leave Canada. You would be assessed as a new visitor upon re-entry.

Yeah thats what Im nervous about as last time
my bf was with me crossing the border they said "we can't issue you a visitor visa as you are clearly wanting to/working towards becoming a resident and in my eyes youre not a 'tourist'"..

That was just a CBSA officer trying to be difficult. You are visa-exempt, so you can be issued a visitor visa anyways. He let you in and issued you visitor status as normal.

Carry proof of the PR app and proof of finances to support your stay. You'll be fine.
