Re-Application of TRV Visa after rejection - Please assist

I got my final decision and and was denied basis the below

After careful review of your temporary resident visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

I applied 10th May 2019- paper route (Nigeria), received biometrics confirmation email on 29th May 2019 & final decision 12th June 2019.

I have 9 years working experience- I currently work in an Oil & Gas multinational company with a good pay (working there for 5 years) and i am also an event planner on the side (Registered my business name).

I wrote a strong worded letter assisted by Africholiday (One of the best travel agents in my country) giving full details of my occupation, reason for travel and itinerary to undergo during my 10 days stay in canada. Travel history (Ghana, Abu dhabi, Dubai &USA-my American Visa is valid till may 2020 ).

All my family members (Mother & siblings) are married and live in Nigeria (updated their info on my application form)so i dont understand why they say i have no family ties in Nigeria & Canada (I dont even know anyone in Canada)

Documents submitted are as follows
* Application form
* Bank statement (6months )- Both Personal & My Business account (Over N4M/$11,000 -combined)
* CAC document (certificate of personal business registration)
* Letter of introduction from my company
* 6 months stamped and signed payslip
* Office ID Card
* Detailed cover letter for my reason to travel
* Copies of my visas and past travel history
* Hotel reservation
* Flight reservation
* Tour reservation & details

I am so frustrated with this, please help as i will like to re-apply(Probably online this time). what do i do next? i dont want to make any mistakes. How do i respond to them or know what the mean by family ties in Nigeria & canada.

How long do i take to re-apply after picking up my passport?

P.s I am single (though engaged) . could that be why?

Sorry about your refusal... trust me I know how it feels but all the same,

The VO probably thinks since non of your family member is dependent on you, You dont really have a strong tie to them and as such may think you won't come back. If you had stated that you take care and look after your mom because she's old and the other members of the family are all married it would have been "maybe" a different case. But in your case it clearly shows your mom is not dependent and you are still single(engaged) no family of your own yet. The VO considers all these little things.

Most times it's hard for single applicants to get Visa because of weak family ties unless stated otherwise in the LOE


You can apply anytime, otherwise stated in the refusal letter

I live with my who is 70years of age (Though she is agile and is fully accountable for herself) I will write a letter advising that i take care of he an will not spend more than the 10days vacation trip.

My house is in my parents name, i currently do not own any landed property (Only asset is a car in my name & my registered event planning business).

The money is owned by me and not put in for the purpose of travel (The money has been in my savings account for over 6 months)

I will like to re-apply via the online route nextweek as soon as i pick up my passport.

Please what do they meet by family ties in Canada as well?

Don't bother yourself about that since you have no body over there...
Since your mom is old and over 60 definitely she need someone to be by her side at least once in a while... when writing your LOE, you have to state that categorically that she's dependent on you that you basically still live with her just to be around her and take care of her and you can't abandon her since the other members are married and also state you are engaged "maybe soon to wed" if you have a date you could input it also ( it would make your application stronger)... Just make everything look convincing and genuine

When I wrote mine, my address was
THE VISA OFFICER
DEPUTY CANADIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER. That's more neutral for me... instead of stating the one in my local because my application could be sent out to any Canadian embassy in the world for processing

Ghost email 25th June (Received an email advising that my application was updated but when i checked online nothing was changed till date)

• You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.

• We do not need additional documents.

• You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

• We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.

It has been 22 days since submission date and no update has been received

Please advise if there is any issue with the application or why its taking this long.

Current processing time in Nigeria is 42 Days...So even though you've submitted already you may have to wait out the 42 days of processing time for your answer.

Wanted to explain why no families ties in Canada is an issue. It is a negative that you don’t any family members in Canada. Canada is not a usual choice for short term travel. It is expensive and far away so people usually visit if they have family unless they have a good amount of savings.

Your savings should just be from your personal account not your business account. Business account is supposed to be used within the business. If you take away your business account you may not have enough savings.

There has also been a large spike of asylum seekers arriving from Nigeria so IRCC is being very cautious with their applications.

On my first application I used my business& savings Acct details but got denied.

On my second current application I utilized only my personal savings Acct and I have approx $12,000 CAD

My bank account shows that funds have been in my Acct for over 6months.

From the above it shows and confirms that I can cater for myself financially throughout my 10 days stay. I honestly just want to go for vacation but if they refuse again I’d just go to US for the holidays since I have a valid US visa .

Yes I do but my travel agent advised me to seperate my application from my fiancé since I’m not legally married (still engaged ) Because as at the time I was re applying my fiancé Mum was still awaiting her H& C Filing (she stays with my fiancé’s sister who is a citizen) . She only just got the confirmation of her PR on the 14th July since 2017 (I applied on 24th June ) so didn’t want any complication in my application.
