Hey,

Does anyone now how much it roughly costs to do the RCMP and how long it takes to get it done. Im afraid that once CIC request it, I wont have it complete in time. Thanks

There's nothing stopping you from preemptively applying for the finger-print based clearance, but before you do, you should understand the following ...

1) CIC does not require an RCMP clearance with the application because they automatically conduct name-based clearances on ALL applicants.

2) A finger-print based RCMP clearance is ONLY requested if the name based search comes back with a record (e.g. someone with the same name as you has a criminal record).

If you have a very common name or some other reason to believe that you will be required to submit the RCMP clearance, by all means...

It is 26$ paid at the police station + xpress post cost to send them to CIC

I did not go to any 3rd party company
I went directly to my local police station asked for RCMP for PR purposes, filled a form, entered my UCI number, paid 26$ got my fingerprints taken
Takes 3 days for the results to be done (if no matches found)
I got the letter by mail on day number 4 including weekends!
I live in Toronto if you want to know :D

The reason I put my home address not CIC on the RCMP form is because I wanted to track the delivery and know when it reaches CIC as CIC will NOT update you if they receive it or not, even if you email or call.
So I sent it myself requesting signature and tracking :)

Note: CIC will accept scanned copies, how I know? I asked them :) I took a scan of my report and emailed CIC, "do you accept scanned copies?" they replied "yes, send it to me and I will add it to your file" whomever officer KT4*** was :D

So whole process (for me) took 6 days from day 1 taking fingerprints to day 4 for them to receive the scanned copy to day 6 when CIC received the physical letter

Good luck.

Thats great thanks a mill, I live in Toronto too. Will any police station do in Toronto yeah

Most of them have fingerprint service available so just walk-in to the nearest office to you and all should take less than 10 minutes (if there is no lineup)

I sent my RCMP prints to Ottawa at the end of March and havent heard anything back since. Still waiting for COPR..... feel like the only one waiting!!

Hi,

I have recieved request fingerprints from CIC at 19 Nov 2018.
I gave fingerprints from 3rd party company at 20 Nov 2018

But, RCMP will send results to CIC.
How can I learn they receive or no?

Thanks
