RCMP criminal record check

Hi All

I have some questions and I wish you guys could give me some advices.

I have done the Medical Check and local criminal record check a month ago. Last Firday (27 Aug 2010), I received a letter and was requested to have the rcmp criminal record check.

My questions are

1. Why CIC dont request the rcmp criminal record check earlier? Since I am in Hong Kong and I have to take the paper base submission and it takes 120days to complete at least.

2. Does that mean my Medical Check and Local criminal record check PASSED, so I was asked to move into next check? I assume CIC will not ask me to do the rcmp criminal record check if I fail Medical check and Local criminal record check. Is my assumption correct?

3. Can I fly to Canada to do the rcmp criminal record check locally?

1. Because at that point the name check was done on CPIC and a person with a similar name and age has a criminal record. If your application was going to be refused, they wouldn't have bothered
2. Sure you can fly to Vancouver then see an authorized provider, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/ob116.asp and you should have the results in 72 hours.

Does that mean the Medical check was also passed? From the medical check request latter, it takes at least 8 weeks to complete the result.

Probably, most medical results reach the processing office in 4-6 weeks
