RCMP Check - timing of request

So after 2 years and 2 months, we received a letter yesterday (from Vegreville) advising us that they are pleased to advise that our application processing is complete and that we will hear from Scarborough next. Question: For those who have been asked to do an RCMP check, is it before or after this letter? We are just anxious to get this done and are hoping that there is not another delay for RCMP. Did the RCMP check request come from Vagreville or the 'local' office?

Hi, sorry to bother you, I dont have an answer for your question, but I was wondering... it took you 2 years and 2 months for an inland application? wow, you are a hero hahaha... im almost 5 months in it and getting crazy! You also talk about Scarborough, did you got transfer to that office? is that why it took so long? did you pass an interview?

Our case is relativly straightforward and we were approved in principle 10 months after applying. Unfortunately though we received conflicting advice on how to handle two non-accompanying dependents wrt the application i.e.) my husband has two grown children who are 18 & 22 and happy at home with no desire to move. We were advised that they did not have to get all the police/medical done if we made a declaration forfeiting them from the application. This was not true and thus we had to wait for them to be processed as well. Add to this a police strike at home which meant delayed police clearance certificates - and we ended up here. If I had to change one thing about this process it would be to have a link between the call centres and the officers processing the applications as I believe so much time and duplication of effort could be eliminated. Still - we are close - and when the letter arrived on Tuesday, tears just ran down my face with relief and joy! 2 Medicals later .... 2 Police Certificates .... 2 long trips for children who are not coming! and lot's and lot's of patience

I hope things go much quicker for you and thank you for your kind words. I think that the Inland processing time has sped up of late which is great news. Vagreville handled ours - the first time Scarborough was mentioned was in the letter this week as ai believe all Inland eventually end up at a local office. Best of aluck and take care!
