Hey folks,

I received an e-mail from CIC this morning requesting an RCMP Clearance Record, however, I'm a little confused while reading the instructions from the link they provided to go about doing it:

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm

Has anyone of you been asked for one recently? From what I understand, you can get electronic fingerprinting done at a police station or accredited finger printing agency, then you need to mail this to RCMP? Kind of confusing.

Go to a accredited finger printing agency. Get your fingerprints done. They will send it to RCMP.
You can choose to receive the records either at your address or get it sent to CIC.

I got the same email today -

I'm guessing I can have it delivered to my address and then scan and send an email to CIC?

In the email it says -
Please note:
All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations. When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable. When attaching your document(s), please ensure that they are smaller than 5MB and that each document is attached individually.

The above information/documents must be received in our office within 60 days from the date of this letter. Please quote your complete application number on your correspondence and address your correspondence to the address indicated below.

I was wondering if that's a generic signature used by cic or if it's specifically for the RCMP Check

Yes, I just called commisionaires and they said just come to the office, we take your fingerprints, send it to RCMP and you can let us know whether you want the results to go to CIC or your home address. Costs $50. Takes 7-10 business days.

Thanks Andy for the quick response!
