Hi everyone,

As part of the my immigration process, we were requested to provide my wifes fingerprints to the RCMP so they can complete her background check. We are currently living in London, uk.

Based on this page: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/steps-getting-a-certified-criminal-record-check

To do this outside of Canada, we need to do the following:

1- We must first contact the local police of jurisdiction where we are staying outside Canada who can provide us with a copy of the fingerprints.

2- Once we have the finger prints, we must send them to an accredited company within Canada who can convert the paper fingerprint forms taken outside of Canada and submit them to CCRTIS electronically.

3- To get a list of the accredited companies within Canada, I had to E-mail CCRTIS-SCICTR@rcmp-grc.gc.ca as per instruction on this page: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/where-do-get-a-criminal-record-check#a3

We are still waiting for that list.

My questions:

Did anyone have to go threw this in London? if so what police station did you use?
Can anyone provide me with an accredited company within Canada?
Has anyone used https://www.ukfingerprints.com/ ?

Thank you

I’d have a look into timelines and cost around the overseas process. We were living in London in 2011 and were getting my wife PR for New Zealand (we have subsequently moved to Canada) and she needed a medical and RCMP finger prints.

The criminal check process from overseas at that time could take up to a year and cost was high as everyone had a fee. With the savings on fees alone, not even considering time, it was cost neutral for her to fly back to Nova Scotia for a long weekend and do everything there.

You’ll need to do some due diligence if this is still possible, but worth investigating.

Hi again,

We have completed all the steps and received the fingerprints results back from the RCMP and have uploaded the results to the online system.

On the request letter, there is this paragraph:

"Once completed, the results will be returned to you by regular mail. In turn, please mail them to us within 30 days. Please also return a copy of this correspondence with your items/documentation."

Do we need to mail the RCMP results to immigration by post?

If so what is the address as it is not specified anywhere?

Thank you in advance
