Hi fellas, I need your advice.

I am on 466 in pool and going to lose 5 points towards December end.
There is a scope to increase from 7.0 to 7.5 and gain 3 points which will take me to 469.

My sister who is FSW-O and got ITA in March and AoR in April is still awaiting biometrics however all the other processes are complete in her EE profile.

Please suggest if I should:

1. Wait for her to land (maybe in Feb/March/April) and be on 476
2. Try to Increase my writing from 7.0 to 7.5
3. Start learning French

Option 1 seems solid. Or You could start learning French if you don't want to wait until your sister lands..
3 points for writing won't help before December.

I would say (and I know this may sound rough), but why not do all 3 if possible?

Waiting until early 2021 isn't going to take that long. Redoing the writing test shouldn't be too much of a hassle so long as you are confident and give yourself enough study time. Learning French may be quite difficult, so maybe use that as a backup, or just start doing it slowly and see how it goes.

These are uncertain times, and my recommendation will always be "do whatever you can to increase your CRS".

I would start learning french, just the basics for now, you never know. Also wait for your sister for the extra points, 476 should be competitive in early 2021. And if you have an extra 250 USD that you don't mind spending, would go for a new IELTS, but not sure it they will help that much..
466 seems hard for this December.

Thanks bud! My application is at the Ottawa VO. Eligibility is passed, but my security check hasn't started yet. Not sure why. So, I will have to be patient.

Did a small analysis, looks like score can just touch 475, tie breaker will come into play for 475 with the dates in early November.
But my analysis is considering 1800 people in the top 3 range and almost 160 people entering each day for 471-480 starting from last draw.
My take
600-1200 - 500
501-600-500
491-500 -300
481-490- 700
471-480- 4528 ( Considering 160*14 + Existing)
If we take 40% people > 475 and 60% < 475 then score can touch 475.

Also if 4500 people are invited.

What do you think guys ??
