I emailed my local VFS now (South Africa) to find out if they can tell me anything about when they might reopen. The website just says the Canadian VACs in Cape Town and Pretoria are closed. Nothing about reopening.
Hopefully they will eliminate the requirement of visa stamping and steps that requires VACs and introduce online based procedures..... Lets see....

An

And your point is ??
I dont have a point bro, just stuck here by seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope that it is not an illusion.
Hopefully the highest points get cleared in first draw and only adequate high ranking profiles enter the pool from there on. Then we are back to normal I guess......

Can you please explain this ? Before the lock down the cutoffwas 470+ ? Since most of the CEC applicant have been invited so shouldn't the score be low now ? also hoping that there wont be many CEC draws anymore
Hi buddy,
Look at the pool now, almost all profiles above Last CEC cut of is believed to be FSW. So there are much more high ranking profiles awaiting invitations now than before. So it will take 1-2 drwas for them to clear and come to nywhere near 473-475. And then, by the time draw resumes more profiles will pope up, if they are high ranking then again the scores will go up.

To be realistic, it is not easy to score 470+. Not many people are gifted with everything CRS calculator is asking for. I believe if the number of highest ranking candidates remain relatively low, scores may come down to <465 provided that they resume all program draws ASAP....

And you see, all these is just an interpretation with available data. I am not responsible for any decisions u make based on the above.

A good news for u some or may be not , ielts paper based exam was conducted in 7 cities in India , with 50 candidates in a hall , and was a success . Ielts gonna happen soon in all cities soon , be ready for 470+ again
Definitely a disappointing one at this time. But some comfort is that ECA organizations have not resumed their in-office operations and not every university in India would be willing to send electronic transcripts.
As cases are creeping up, IELTS might reconsider to close it even if there 1% chance of virus spreading (I wish all remain safe). So the only solace is the ECA delays. Plus most dudes that write IELTS now might not have had their ECAs done for their degrees. Also British Council is not conducting much exams as IDP is doing and this too is a boon
One thing is for sure, the moment FSW draws resume, for 2 to 3 draws, cut-off will be above 465 but it will plummet (as in the case of CEC from 468 in the month or March to the recent 431 in 2 months). Not many will be able to join the pool now compared to the pre-covid scenario.
In the event that CEC exclusive draws still continues, the cut-off will linger in the 470+ range. Many H1B dudes have now turned their direction towards Canada when the immigration recently sent a message stating that Canada will welcome overseas talents while US is closing doors. Thousands and thousands of extremely motivated H1B dudes are up to Canada now.
I pray that FSW draws take place from the month of July

I have a question about PCC. I got mine in December from my current place of residence in the city that I was employed. With this situation, we have gotten work from home till end of the year. So am considering moving to my home town for a few months. My PCC was obtained in December so it has expired. The question is can I get PCC from any city in my home country? Or do I need to get it from the city where I have stayed last two years? Both are in India so am hoping a PCC is pan country and shouldn't be limited to one city.

Most countries have one database for criminal records.... I’m not sure what is obtainable in India but it makes absolutely no sense to limit PCCs to States.

Depends on the policy of PCC in your country but I believe you can get it from anywhere in within your country.

Thank you guys! Although my PCC doesn't have an expiry date but read somewhere IRCC considers it valid for 6 months.

IRCC might change some policies when they start inviting FSW so i think it is best we wait for an invitation before proceeding with documentations. I strongly feel medicals might be moved to after getting COpr
