How do you know the cut-off would have been above 440, had IRCC done the usual bi-weekly draw the first time? 442 does not assure that the next cut-off would be above 440. In my opinion, they didn't have enough candidates above 440 even back then, hence they delayed the draw and the cut-off rose to 456. The same thing happened this time around. My score is 439, I am a very realistic person and I don't think I have a chance at least in this quarter. I will rather try to increase my points than to wait for the score to come down. I already wasted 1.5 months on ROH thread, waiting for ITA in vain. I should have registered for IELTS the moment I lost my previous ITA.

I will pray for those who have done their best and cannot improve the score any further.

Why not go for a PNP ?

I was also being overly optimistic and let multiple draws and a couple of months (April & May) pass by, before figuring out that waiting at 437 was not going to suffice at all. At 36 years of age, inching towards 37 i realized that I need to max out IELTS and get to 440+ given the uncertain nature of draws.

Registered and re-appeared for IELTS on the 25th of May and received results on June 6th. Revised score to 443 as per CLB 10 and was extremely hopeful, but as luck would have it, they skipped the draw.

I strongly believe that given the additional competition this year compared to previous years, all of us need to strive to max out our IELTS scores and for those of us who are 33+ explore every additional avenue to further complement our scores.

I am being optimistic again and hopeful that the CRS cut-off for the upcoming draw will range between 444 -447 this time around, even after a 3 week gap due to a slowdown in the influx of applicants with a CRS of 440+.

congrats @AuroraGaurav1 - you did something great and hard work pays off at the end.

i already maxed out on my IELTS so only option is french, PhD or canadian experience. ill go for trying to get job offer in Canada so i can go there, spend a year and take the 35 points from Canadian experience. that will inch me closer to cutoff.

Even if it were true that they wanted to keep the cutoff score above 440 (a theory at best, and likely just coincidence for now considering we will still have two draws every month since the year started, and are still in line to meet their published immigration targets), would that really be wrong of them? They are free to set the bar as high or low as they want. That's the whole point of the scoring system.
 
@NOMAD2017 I have been long enough on this forum to see various theories. First it was 470 in the year 2015. 450 in 2016. All those theories went down the drain.

The reality is there is no minimum CRS cutoff. The number of candidates with 440+ score is high.

I am a newbie here. I ve already created an ee profile with 433 points and have not used help of any consultant/lawyer for creating it. cut-off dropping to this level seems an impossible thing this year. We (me & spouse) don’t have any Canadian exp or education. We both already have high scores in IELTS, so there’s no scope of crs improvement there.

I need few clarifications if someone can help me out.
#1 would I be better off with a consultant/lawyer....to get a pnp or to help increase my crs.
Because as per my understanding pnp requires job offer or in demand noc .
We have no job offer and as per my understanding none of our occupations is in demand ( teacher/business development manager)..is advise of consultant fruitful?

#2 can pnp be given on basis of spouse NOC also

Point# 1 - You don’t need a lawyer for that. Did you ensure you are getting right points for Skills transferability ?

Point# 2 - PNP invites are for primary applicants only. How about create another profile with your wife as a primary applicant and see ?

Exactly my point. sitting idle did us no good. We should try to increase score instead of hoping that the score would come down.

Well, my wife’s double masters is not being considered as masters because of her 3 yrs graduation. That’s a set back.
Is it allowed to create two profiles with different primary applicants.

I am not surprised to hear that, happens all the time with many applicants who have Masters degree from overseas institutions only to be evaluated as 3 or 4 yr bachelors degree by WES.
If you have patience and have money I can alternately suggest you to try get the degree equivalency done through https://www.icascanada.ca/home.aspx

Having said that, based on your current situation, are you claiming points for 2 bachelors or a single bachelors degree for your wife ?

I have not heard any problem if you and your wife will create different applications as primary and add your spouse respectively on each other’s application

Standing at 440 with CLB9 in ielts, I am considering learning French and writing TEF to increase my score. How long does it take for a quick learner to start learning from scratch and get good enough result? I know there are immigration focusing courses too.
