Hi Guys, i guess i am reading and following ROH threads since a year now and this is my 2nd post.. i like the positivity of each an everybody here... I am trying my luck in IELTS and giving it almost every month.. my todays result is again a big failure ! L-8, R-8.5, S-7, W-6.5.
I am trying my level best to achieve CLB 9, however, one or the other disappoints me everytime...i hope i can get through in the next !
Currently sitting at 423 in the pool. CLB 9 will boost my score to 487.
Trying my luck!
Thankyou for creating positivity here as always.
I feel sorry for you man, I know how hard it is to keep missing just for 0.5 in IELTS, I was lucky to get it in the first attempt, but at least you are quite close to increase your chance and when you get it, you will get the ITA for sure. I am on the other hand already sort of maxed my score, I can only add 3 more points through writing but I think that is extremely difficult to get. I tried twice and even though in my second attempt I felt my writing was better but I still got 7.0 in both try. For the latest result I even tried remarking but my points didnt get increased. Keep trying mate and I am sure you will break the magic figure. Some tips for you (Even though I am not very good at it myself.)
  • Use linking words properly.
  • Keep it simple and cohesive.
  • Use examples (made up or from own expereince) even if you are not asked to, that will make your writing cohesive and your arguments fit together towards your main theme.
  • Download the writing tips app by FR-Solution from playstore, that was very helpful for me.
All the best.

Another thing that is mentioned in the report is that, they slow down the draw when there is large no of applications to be processed. That is why they end up issuing lots of ITAS, then they slow down and let the backlog to clear and then star issuing more again. This is probably why they are now more systematic, issuing two draws every month and gradually increasing the ITAs. I sincerely hope that they dont end up slowing again in the next 2 months as that will kill my chances of ITA. I am 437 and back in February when they came down to 442 I though my time will come soon but from Feb to May now they net drop is just 2 points to 440. Another 3 week delay at this point will kill my dream This is getting scary for me and I guess for many others as well. But my logic says we should soon see 3750 or 4000 ITAs from next month probably which will boost our chance.
I am very much on the same page with you and suspect to see either 3750 or 4000 ITA's soon.

I am not quite sure, but I did read somewhere in the forum that to get FSSW you must be the primary applicant; the candidate with TEF must be the primary in the EE profile.

Regarding IELTS, since you are secondary applicant, I think you don't have to score so high. I am also going to sit for 30th June. In fact, we have a group on whatsapp - very active one. I can send you invite link via message if you want.
Thanks, that´s correct. To be elegible for FSSW the primarry must have TEF. In fact, currently each of us have separate profiles (mine with lower CRS but as a plan B, hoping to receive NOI under French target). Although, I was thinking that they wouldn´t required IELTS in addition to TEF. But it seems they do and that´s why I haven´t get any NOI since I created it on April  .

About the group you mention, that would be great. Thank you. How does this group work? (I am thinking about the different time zones).

So I was studying the Year-end report of 2016 for the express entry. From there I found out the following things.

1. The admission target is for the total admission means applicant and their accompanying dependents.

2. The applicant who are already residing in Canada are not part of the admission target. I say this because in the report there are figures stating the total admission that happened during 2016 and that doesn't include people already living in Canada.

3. All the PNP nominated profile are not included in the express entry admission target, PNP has different target as we know and all the pnp nomination that get ITA will not take out space from the 74000 target of this year.

4. Admission target is for a year. So it is the target for this year 2018, which means people who got ITA in the later half of 2017 after getting PPR this year they will be counted as admission in 2018. So people who get ITA in later half of this year will take out space from 2019 target which is again more than this year.

Many of you probably knew all these but if anyone think any different than what I understood please share your opinion.
1 - correct
2 - completely wrong. Speaking of Permanent residency permit, any type of temporary visa is irrelevant. So regardless if you are or not in Canada , if you do not have PR, you need to apply and once you finish your landing you will end up in statistics for that year.

3. just a small correction. PNP is part of whole economic immigrants target as such, but it is not part of the 74k (those are for EE only). PNP itelf are partly using EE system and partly paper based system.

4. Technically yes, it is for that specific year. I would assume, that the numbers are for the landed PR (also that is not specifically stated, but it is the most logical statistics they can get). But since most of the time landing is not the same day as you get COPR which is not the same day, you get your PPR request, which is not the same day you get your AOR, hence everything else needs to be pushed. That is why there is the estimation, that from April onwards, they use the quota for 2019 already for their ITA (until you send your application and it will get approved, it will be close to 2019).

The basic condition of the French stream is the proof of being bilingual. That means CBL 7 for French and CBL 6 for English (here you can choose between IELTS and CELPIP). And once you will have your IELTS / CELPIP ready, it is the best to delete and recreate your profile (as they might not consider yours if it is too old).
French as a first language is their hidden condition.

I second your interpretation. That´s what I am also understanding from the EE reports and oficial news. Moreover, looking at the tendency and seeing the gap in comparison with past year total ITAs issued, I have this feeling that soon we should see 3750 or 4000 ITAs, probably and HOPING that starting 91th draw.

In complement to the above, I would like to add the following:

Admission Target= total PRs issued; and each person (adult and children) requires an individual PR.
The 75K target for 2018 is only for FSW, FST, CEC. In addition, they are other targets like:
Atlantic Pilot 1,000
Caregivers 17,000
Business 700
PNPs 55,000
Quebec 28,900

= Total Economic PRs 177.5 K

These are good news. :)

Sorry to butt in here @NOMAD2017 and @vj83 ... But imho it is not the best approach tbh. please check point# 6 in first post on this thread by Faraz...
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/reasons-for-rejection-faraz-summary.471670/ (like the end of the paragraph, dont try this at home :) ).

If I may ask you @vj83 , which country PCC are you talking about ?

I am not an expert, but I see the info on a lot of threads here on the forum and I am able to share them for you...
In my case, the police might take a few days to process the PCC application. So even if I apply on the last day, when I am about to leave the country, the PCC will be issued after a few days of my departure. The date mentioned on PCC will be the one when they issue the PCC. But that's a hypothetical scenario as I have no plans of visiting home this year. I can easily get it made by an agent or a relative. I am from Islamabad, Pakistan by the way.

Many IELTS test locations in the USA is booked until middle of September so does that mean it will be another surge of candidates into the pool?
There are very limited number of IELTS centers in USA. I have given IELTS twice in US and in my experience almost 60% of test takers are taking for Academic part. Many of test center's in US are part of University which do not conduct exams in vacation season. Plus they have limited seats about 40 in small centers and 100 in bigger centers. With major percentage giving Academic - Unavailability of Test location does not mean anything. Please do not over analyze this factor.

Well for no 2, why is the total no of admission is so low then? I mean in 2017 the total no of admission in Canada were 65415 only against the target of 71700. We already know there were over 84000 ITAs were issued in that year and since one single application resulted in around 2 admission on average, I find the no 65000 very low in that aspect.

Good info. Thanks. Where is Mr. Red? :p So I was right about the dependents, eh? :p he convinced me that dependents were not included in the PR quota and made me delete my poll :p

So what my lawyer once suggested to me as I was in a similar issue that I had applied for the Indian PCC (they retain your passport at the consulate for the PCC processing and they quoted me a 3-4 weeks time for receiving the PCC)here in Toronto was, that apply with the PCC payment receipt that you received and mention that it is under process and will take the above time. Once I get the document I will upload them right away.

In the end the PCC came in 1 weeks time so I was able to apply with the document

So if I go to India e.g. and apply and the receive the document imho it will not be accepted.
