I was preparing my personal travel history records and had a few queries:

1) When we take connecting flights and move within Europe Schengen area, we should mention all countries even though we did not cross any border control?

2) In my current residence country, we now exit and enter without any stamping. I only have corresponding stamps in my home country. Will this be an issue?

3) In my spouse passport, there are only entry stamps and no exit stamps from US and Canada. Is that a common practice for those counties? My spouse exited Canada by Car to US and exited US by air.

4) For my spouse exit from Canada, we are not sure of the exact date- but we know it’s either of two consecutive dates. So our date may be incorrect by a single day. Will that be an issue?

5) In the form post ITA, are we required to provide cities in travel history or only countries?

Clarifications for this would be very helpful!

Hello everyone,

I want to clarify a few points before the next invitation round so I will be able to act quickly. I wonder if you can answer these questions.

1. Is it advisable to upload all documents in the same day(considering the fact that some documents will be even 2 weeks old at that time)? Or it is best to upload them one by one on the same day of receiving them? Will be any difference from an immigration officer perspective?

2. Which documents should be most recent ones? Or how old they can be? Can I collect them in advance(like before receiving ITA)? As I see on the official page :

In Express Entry, applicants are required to submit a complete electronic application for permanent residence (e-APR) within 90 calendar days of being issued an invitation to apply (ITA). So we can deduct 90 days from the actual validity period of each document and get the time frame that we can have upfront before receiving ITA.
  • Medical examination confirmation(must be valid at the time of application) - this one should be valid at the time of landing(if I am not mistaken) so it is advisable to be as recent as possible.
  • Police certificates(must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR) - 3 months
  • Copy of the biographical data page of a passport or travel document - recent
  • Proof of work experience - no indication of time frame, so I suppose I can start getting reference letters from old work places now and get the fresh reference letter for my current job only after getting ITA
  • Proof of relationship to a relative in Canada(including a brother or sister for the purpose of obtaining additional CRS points) The documents must show their address in Canada and should be recent (dated within six months prior to submission) - 3 months
  • Proof of studies(and ECA) - as I know ECA report is valid for 5 years and IELTS report is valid for 2 years
  • Proof of funds - I suppose it is ok if bank reference letter is 2 weeks old at the time of uploading that document.
So from my understanding I can start collecting police certificate and reference letters from my past employees even if next invitation round will be in January 2018. Am I correct in this?

3. I worked at company A and had 2 positions there, Junior C Plus Plus Engineer and C Plus Plus Engineer(I have written C Plus Plus instead of C++ since the EE system didn't allow me to use '+' sign in EE application). So since these are different jobs I have entered them separately in my EE profile even if the company is the same. And here cic says that:
  • The personalized document checklist in applicants’ online account prompts the applicant with an upload field for each work experience declared.
I am confused, should I prepare separate reference letters for Junior C Plus Plus Engineer and C Plus Plus Engineer positions? If not what should I upload for these positions? The same reference letter?

4. I have checked my past work contracts and under Employee is written "[country name]-ian branch of A Inc."(like Canadian branch, Italian branch etc.). But in my EE profile I have written under Employee only the name of the actual company: "A Inc.".

Should I change it to "[country name]-ian branch of A Inc."?

5. Will there be a way to change the information entered for EE after receiving ITA? For example if I have indicated that I will bring N amount of money to Canada, that means that I will not be allowed to bring more on my landing?

Thanks.

It makes no difference at all. They may actually never know when you uploaded them.

Correct

Ok, I get it, so not only medical exam's paper(s) should be as close as possible to the date of submitting of ALL DOCUMENTS TOGETHER but also Proof of relationship to a relative in Canada and POF.

Anything regarding Questions 3, 4, 5?

Just get the reference letter to include full details of both roles in one letter. Then upload the same letter in both placeholders.

Change to what the contract say, or what the company letterhead says.

Firstly, you are free to change anything post ITA and explain in the LOE.
Secondly, the amount you enter is just a general figure, it just has to be above the minimum required. So you a free to take a million into Canada if you have it. lol

Thanks.

Its up to you whether to submit all documents at once or at different times, they will only be officially be recorded when you submit the completed application.
Yes, make med, relative's utility bill and your POF as recent as possible.

Yes, understood.

Should the reference letter be just one page? I am asking because after filling both roles' responsibilities separately, dates of salary changes(5 salary changes after the initial one) there is no much place for company's details, mainly because I also stated the numbers in words for my annual salaries in parentheses(for example 1234(one thousand two hundred thirty four)). I am thinking of stating salaries in numbers only.

Hi all,

If you can't get a experience letter in company letter head. Your's is a alternate best option.
Ask your manager to compose a letter for you, get it signed and if possible notarize the letter which make your document look legit.

To further substantiate your claim, include your pay stubs, compensation letter, promotion letter, offer letter, Tax slips..etc for leverage.
