Hi Guys,

Please let me know if any body is applying under express entry with Sikkim Manipal University Degree or any distance education degree, is it valid for express entry if we have got ECA for it?

I am not from the mentioned university but we have to done our ECA from reputed assessment organisation to validate our degree.
It is acceptable from IRCC, I would opt for WES to do my ECA. your call :)

Many thanks

But my wife's sister is just 7 years old and does not havea PR
and my wife's father just got a working visa.

can we get points for there?
Oh, I get it now. I believe unless they have PR or citizenship they can't be eligible for you. Why not add her father's wife who is a canadian lady . Since it is her father who married her, doesn't it come under "mother" category ?

Am reiterating the point "This relationship can be through blood, adoption, marriage, or common-law partnership."
I believe she comes clear with "marriage" category.

Hello All,
I am a newbie on this forum or any forum for that matter.(noob ,is that the word?)
I am waiting for ITA at 426 and will be at 421 by end of Aug.(but Its still a Happiest Birthday for me as i hope my next one will be in Canada,so i am happy in advance)
I am also 'hopeful' like many of us here .
My reason to join here is to know people who are now in same boat as me and to basically ease my waiting period.

I am usually busy doing engineering stuff( my NOC 2133) which i find more fascinating than social media so pardon my noob nuisances.
I pray for all to get what they want and happiness in the end.

welcome to the boat for canada :) all the best

if my logic is correct there are only about 20k spots left till they reach their yearly target. That being said, they have to draw 6 times and about 3.3k candidates each draw.

Say, they only want scores above 440.

They CANT. Because there arent enough applicants to fill the 3.3k quotas for the next draws, the score will drop to 430+- ... UNLESS theres a huge number of new applicants with scores above 440 then they can focus on inviting the 440+ candidates.

So those below 440, and above 430 dont lose your hope for this year. im sitting at 438, hopefully they drop down to 437

Hey, guys.

Been following the RoH threads for draws 68 and 69, however first time posting.

I was wondering if you could help me with this "dilemma":

I am currently sitting at 420 after submitting my profile last week with accompanying spouse. He is taking his IELTS this month and with his results we probably reach 440.

However, if I apply by myself, my points go up to 438.

Can I update my profile to say that he is not accompanying me until he gets his results, in case of a draw < 439 until then, or will this prevent him from getting his PR if I receive an ITA?

If I do remove him now, how can he accompany me to Canada after I get PR?

Thanks so much and best of luck to us all.
If you apply by yourself your spouse can't join you until after you've landed and then applied and received a spousal visa.

You are more than likely looking at years rather than months for that. Just hold off until his IELTS results are in, unless you prefer sleeping alone ;)

Distance education for a year is enough to meet the requirements. If qualification assessment organisation recognized your education and university then provide the ECA ,you don't need t jitter about that.

You have got the ECA, go ahead.

If they only want 440 plus than they shouldnt have set a precendce

You are right in partially,But my opinion :
1.The draws will be more than 6, I think 8 or 9.
2.They don't want only 440+ as the precedence is already set in Q1, in fact a big chunk of invites this year are less than 440.

Recheck with some consultancy. I did my graduation from MU. That's was fine but I was told degree from SMIT isn't valid. Suggest you to call some consultants and check

right, 6 is the minimum draw until the end of the year. I think there will be 3 draws for this month of August

Yes it's frustrating. It looks like they conduct draws when they have enough numbers above their preferred cut off.

While recent event may suggest so I do not think IRCC will make the eligibility criteria be that linient for even scores as low as 300. Its just a matter of time, crs will come down. My optimistic opinion though

I don't see it ever getting that low to be honest.

They don't really want old farts like myself or people without a solid grasp of English or French and they will always demand a degree (or a trade that is required)

I honestly believe 360 is the lowest it will ever go if it ever gets there.
