I took my test with British council and the date on my test results form is 3 days earlier than the online test results. So if I were you, I would listen to @iamxty.
I have registered with BC for my IELTS
Hope it is better than idp as have already given 2 attempts falling 0.5 short each time.

Needed some advice from seniors , I posted it earlier but no reply came though ... Is the POF from SISTER who is living in Canada as PR, acceptable by CIC ?
Hi,

POF must be in the applicants name. So your sister will need to transfer the funds into your bank account and give you a notarised gift deed.

I javQUOTE="iamxty, post: 6206493, member: 659102"]I agree with the fairness in BC Singapore especially in the speaking part, and the testing centres here are very nice. :)[/QUOTE]
I have heard the same regarding people complaining both about idp as well as bc being unfair in India. I guess I was one of the lucky people. I have experienced both one for academic and one for general test. My experience with both the testing agencies has been wonderful and my scores almost identical.
Idp lrws 9/9/7.5/7.5
Bc lrws 9/8.5/7.5/7.5

I have read about a lot of people here complaining about the IDP and BC in India not being fair in their evaluations. That's really sad. If it is in fact true, have you guys considered taking the test in another country, for eg: Singapore/ US/ Australia? You can do it while you are holidaying there. I can vouch for the British council in Singapore at the very least. All the best guys!
the worse thing that i hate about the test it you have to appear in all the modules again, it doesnt make any sense to me once i have proved my proficiency in one module why should i have to go through it again? in fact i believe that appearing in all the subject restricting most of us with .5 band, we all are general applicant and we have done with all our exams sitting in a room half a dacade ago, now it is very difficult to sit at once place for all these hours on top of that the time we have to wait out side the examination hall. i dont know bout centers at other country but in india writing module is always last and by the time you start your writing after getting exhausted with reading and listening you prone to loose that .5 band,

i think they should allow to appear in specific modules and i bet 85% of applicants will have CLB 9

I m @428... Awaiting ITA....In the meantime,if I get a post doc offer, will it effect my PR application???...Can i stay in Canada working on the postdoc n parallely process PR uder FSW-O??
Hi,
I'm sure this is perfectly fine. If people with work permits can apply you should too. One can apply for PR regardless of their status in Canada.

All the best

I believe it is the same in all countries, writing is always last.

I agree, they should allow people to only redo the modules they want to. However, IELTS is a business boss, they make lots of money from it, so they celebrate when you don't do well. If I alone gave them 810usd in 4 months (3 attempts), you can imagine how much they make per year.

It's a money making machine.

I have also given them CAD 950 in 2 months with 3 attempts just for the listening section o_O

So the gift deed will be made and notarized in Canada ?????? the fund will be made through electronic transfer , anything else needs to be attached ? Like her pay stub , utility bills in Canada or bank statement ... Anything else ?
